I'm having issues with the face unlock feature. It will still ask me to slide up even when it already recognised my face. I've set it to unlock automatically. Is this a bug? It's kinda annoying. Why won't it work like the finger print sensor?

I love the camera of my p20 more and more every day.when people take a picture taken from a samsung a5, s8 or s9 and send it to mme, i cant stand it even for a glance. It almost hurts. There is a world of differences. P20 is the best choice for anyone who wants to watch pictures , not just shapes with tomatoe juice spoiled over them

I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review. I was greatly surprise that Huawei provided a case and pre-applied a tempered glass screen protector, a really nice touch given you a piece of mind in case of any accidental drop, just the horror to drop a brand new phone as soon you have in your hands is terrifying.
The P20 is very responsive thanks to the UI refinements and the usage of Android 8.1. One thing to consider is that phone become really hot to touch when is under heavy workloads (e.g.: gaming) just felling uncomfortable to hold on your hands but not at the point to burn yourself, under normal circumstances or usage is fine.
Huawei is establishing itself as one of the stronger contender on the mobile market by offering quality and refine products, still missing some features such as: wireless charging and IP67. In order to compete with the market leaders the lack of those features doesn't help. Nevertheless, two mobile OEMs have full control over their silicon: Apple and Huawei.
Huawei is higher integrated of the two due in-house modem development breaking into the high-end market with competitive solutions. The big feature in the Kirin 970 is the inclusion of a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU). What is NPU good for? One use-case is noise reduction and thus is able to increase voice recognition rate in heavy traffic. The most publicized use-case is related to the camera app by recognizing different scenarios and optimize the settings based on pre-sets configuration, most of the scenarios it works flawless, still some work has to be done under really low light conditions. Keep in mind this is a phone, not a high end DSLR camera. Huawei is reaching out to developers to find more use-cases for the NPU, at least Huawei is trying to innovate with something new on a convoluted market.
One big talking point, is the notch at the top of the display, which houses the speaker and front camera. It can be "removed" via software or set per app as to whether a full-screen display is possible or not. Huawei opted to use an LCD display on the P20 instead an OLED used on the P20 Pro, full HD+ resolution and color contrast is good in daily usage. Due most of the interesting characteristics were reserved to the P20 Pro, I wish that Huawei had priced the P20 a little lower to attract more potential buyers, still is a good phone and his massive 128GB of storage is suitable to the average users with a good battery life.

If you're a phone photo enthusiast, try the cameras of P20, PRO, Mate 10 and PRO, then compare their price differences.
