Well huawei again nailed all the competition.
In next 20-30 years they will sells equal number of devices per year than the rest of the competitors together.
Like in past Nokia did.

CalinMc, 29 Mar 2019this P30, or Samsung galaxy s10e ?P30: bigger display, better battery, better camera for photgraphy, 3x zoom camera, better video recording in bad light conditions, earlier android updates, nice gift if you buy it in preorder
S10e: better scores in benchmarks, better camera for video recording in good light conditions, wireless charging, better speakers (2 speakers, so you have a stereo effect)
The decision is yours :)

Mate 20: What are you?
P30: Aside from a smaller screen (subjective to preference), a smaller battery, and the absence of FM Radio as well as an IR Blaster, I'm you, but better in almost every other way :)
- 6.1 inch OLED for P30, 6.53 inch IPS for Mate 20
- P30 Pro has an identical 40MP Main Cam and 8MP Telephoto Cam as the Mate 20 Pro (so expect great camera capability even from the supposedly "inferior" variant of the P30 series!), but with different sensors (RYYB Sensor instead of the conventional RGGB Sensor).
- The different color sensor enables greater light intake, and hence excellent Night Shot Photos for the P30 series smartphones, which may even trump photos taken by the Mate 20 Pro, especially in low light conditions!
Conclusion: P30 (non-pro) >>>> Mate 20 (non-pro), if you are willing to fork out the extra cash for the incredible triple cam setup on the P30 (very similar to Mate 20 Pro's cam setup just as a reference), athough Mate 20's triple cam is already very good imho (I am a Mate 20 non pro user)

The Huawei P30 also has a flat display similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10e, so if you do not like that curved edge display (some people love it, some people hate it), avoid the P30 Pro and get the P30.
But it only has 3x optical zoom instead of the 5x optical zoom on the P30 Pro, might be less helpful if you like to spy from a far distance.

Comparison between P30 (Non Pro) and Mate 20 Pro:
- Very Similar Triple Camera Setup (except for the Color Spectrum RYB Sensor on P30 which is interesting, as opposed to the conventional RGB Sensor for Mate 20 Pro)
- Slightly worse selfie camera for Mate 20 Pro as compared to P30 (although Huawei selfie cameras are generally not that good compared to the ones out in the market, particularly due to the absence of auto focus)
- Bigger OLED Screen & Higher Resolution for Mate 20 Pro
- Bigger Battery for Mate 20 Pro
- IP68 for Mate 20 Pro, IP53 for P30
- 40W Super Charge + Wireless/Reverse Wireless Charge for Mate 20 Pro, 22.5W Super Charge for P30
- Other Features exclusive to Mate 20 Pro: IR Blaster, Stereo Speakers, Advanced Face Unlock, Big Fat Notch
- Other Features exclusive to P30: Audio Jack, Teardrop Notch
Conclusion: Mate 20 Pro would generally be the more practical choice (since its price should have dropped to roughly the same price as P30 non pro by the time of its release), if you have no problems forgoing the Audio Jack, and do not mind the fat notch. Its interesting to note that the RYB camera sensor of the P30 may allow it to take better/different photos and videos, so let's observe from stress camera comparison tests.
