realitychecker, 28 Mar 2019just pure annoyance. thats why. i keep seeing "no headphone... moreUnderstood. All companies have their respective strengths and downsides, but all produce fantastic phones year after year. Since smartphones steadily grow in their price every year, people will generally tend to weigh the pros and cons of each phone, and hence want to gain the best value out of the product they are buying, since they are already paying so much for one smartphone nowadays.
This is evident due to the fact that Galaxy Note9 is widely termed as the smartphone of 2018, since it checks out the largest number of features that consumers want in a smartphone (eg Lasting Battery, Amazing Camera and Video Capability, Notch-free, AMOLED, 3.5mm jack, and a stylus as a well received bonus etc) People always compare here and there as they want to get the smartphone with the best value based on their respective budget. But yeah, people sometimes tend to exaggerate and over criticise (eg. Criticise Iphone and Google Pixel for absence of 3.5mm jack, although their camera capabilities are top notch), but I understand where they are coming from.
I do appreciate each company's strengths (eg. Apple for the High Dynamic Range (HDR) of their Camera and Most Color Accurate Photos, Google for their Night Sight Photography, LG for their Video Recording Capability, Huawei for its Battery Life and using their own AI assisted and power efficient Kirin chipset, Oneplus for its clean OxygenOS interface, Oneplus and Xiaomi for producing all round great phones at cheaper prices, Samsung for overall consistent amazing phones with many desirable features and having the S Pen for the Note Series). Its the different kinds of smartphones that make the tech industry interesting.

Im an S10+ user coming from a Mate 20 Pro. I gotta admit the Mate 20 Pro is a good phone. But it has bugs which annoys me. And yeah aftersales of Huawei in Indonesia is far behind Samsung Indonesia. But if youre really into photography then go ahead with the P30 Pro. Other than for photography i dont see why anyone would buy a P30 Pro. S10+ wins the rest.
And what i dislike about the S10+ is the charging. Indonesia has the Exynos version. It charges so darn slow... Cant do last minute charging like i did with my M20P.

No problem, 28 Mar 2019I dont have any problem nor quarrel with you (if you took i... morejust pure annoyance. thats why. i keep seeing "no headphone jack" drama here and there, not just in huawei section. why do they have to whine abt it everytime, i mean everytime. can they just accept it as it is, nobody's forcing them to like the phone anyways. everyone has their choices. if they just said "no 3.5mm hjack, k bye' i would understand, but whining like " no 3.5mm hjack, this is dark times or this a bad phone, this will not sell good" is putting whining to the next level. by all means, a phone's quality is not just measured by hole in it. i am not prohuawei or samsung or any, i am just a tech enthusiast who happens to know the value of appreciation. i appreciate the efforts of these companies no matter how they lack on some areas.
lols i replied to my own comment. this has happened to me many times. a reason to be happy. :)

I must admit, It quite impressive phone in terms of specs
I had compared it to S10+
* better battery life than S10+ ( 4200mah vs 4100mah)
* less screen brightness and resolution
* less network speed
* better zoom with the rear camera, But I have not compared the image quality.
* less video recording capabilities than S10+ ( 30FPS 4k vs 60 FPS 4k , no HDR no dual Video)
* less front facing camera
* no Ultrasonic finger print sensor, but has optical in-screen sensor
* slower network adaptor 1400/150 VS 2000/150 MBit/Sec
* Less storage option and less support for SD storage
* less processor speed in Freq global model vs S10+ Global model, but did not do life testing or benchmarking
* less GPU power compared to S10+
* no Gorilla Glass 6 as in S10+
* faster charging than S10+
* no O2 sensor no barometer as in S10+
* no Headphone jack 3.5mm

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2019So what is your problem?
You can still use wired headset w... moreI dont have any problem nor quarrel with you (if you took it the wrong way), just pointing out your mistake of stating the USB Type C as an "audio jack", when it is widely known that the term 'audio jack' refers to the standard 3 5mm one.
Don't get me wrong, I love Huawei phones (I myself am one of them, Mate 20 non pro), but the undeniable fact is that if Huawei includes 3.5mm audio jack to all of their phones (not just one out of the two), their already outstanding sales would benefit considerably, since the reality is that a large number of people still use 3.5mm wired headsets and earphones.
I don't see 3.5mm jack as a "thing of the past" and "ancient", nor do I see myself as a "prisoner of the past", given the fact that smartphone companies still include the audio ports not just in smartphones, but in other electronic appliances as well (eg Laptop, desktop etc), so as to allow users to freely use their 3.5mm wired headsets freely between their electronic items, and not have to buy separate adaptors or wireless/usb headsets to compensate for the absence of 3.5mm audio jack. Furthermore, having it allows people to charge and use their wired earphones at the same time, without needing to use adaptors or wireless ones. Not everyone is as rich and affluent as the ones in first world countries. Imagine if computer companies start to omit out 3.5mm audio jack from their products in the future and claim USB/Wireless headsets are the future. People will naturally feel annoyed by it, wouldn't it?
The 3.5mm jack is just something that is so good to have. That is all to be considered by Huawei for future phones. Correct me if my honest opinion is wrong or flawed.
PS. People dont have to label and nickname others as 'whiners' and 'prisoners of the past' just because others do not agree with their own views. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Anonymous, 28 Mar 2019Why do you insist on 3.5mm jack, it is a thing of the past.... moresome ppl just cant move on. lol. dont mind them and dont argue again if they keep whining. their preference cant be changed. they're a prisoner of the past. sad reality.

Comparison between P30 Pro and Galaxy S10+, coming from a Huawei user
- Screen: S10+ (Samsung has excellent AMOLED screens, and the fact that P30 series uses Samsung screens is an undeniable testament to that. P30 Pro's OLED screen is very good too and is no slouch!)
- Battery: P30 Pro (Huawei phones have excellent battery life and battery management processes, as proven by Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro, partly due to its power efficirnt Kirin Processors. Battery life of Samsung phones are great too, but are known to degrade fairly fast, as I have used Galaxy Note8 in the past. My friends who are Samsung users also notice that too)
- Charging Capabilities: P30 Pro (Both have fast charging, wireless/reverse wireless charging, but P30 Pro generally charge up slightly faster. To be frank, this is not really a feature that is worth comparing lol, having fast charging and fast chargers in the box makes both of these phones amazing already, unlike a certain fruit phone :/)
- Processor: S10+, but must be SD 855 variant, Exynos is a big no go (Kirin 980 and SD 855 are very comparable, but in terms of other departments such as emulator gaming that utilizes more complicated graphic processes, SD 855 performs better and thus edges Kirin 980 out)
- Storage Capabilities: S10+ (microSD cards are more accessible and cheaper than nanoSD cards, but that does not deny the fact that Mate 20 series and P30 series can still expand storage just as well, something that people always overlook and undermine Huawei about. I will give this to S10+ due to the greater availability of microSD cards worldwide)
- Back Camera: To Be Determined, P30 Pro > S10+ on paper (particularly due to its phenomenal telephoto periscope camera that offers up to 5x optical zoom, and up to 50x digital zoom! Also, it is interesting to note that P30 series uses RYB sensors for its cameras as opposed to the conventional RGB sensor, which increases P30 cameras' light intake by up to 40% and take better night shots, as claimed by Huawei. All to be tested and confirmed through comparisons)
- Video Capabilities: To Be Determined, S10+ > P30 Pro on paper (s10+ can take 4K@60fps unlike P30 Pro)
- Selfie Camera: S10+ no brainer (Huawei Selfie Cameras are generally poor due to absense of auto focus. Also, S10+ has 2 selfie cameras too)
- Features exclysive to P30 Pro: IR Blaster (very useful!)
- Features exclusive to S10+: Audio Jack (^.^)
Conclusion: Both are excellent phones!
If you value battery and state of the art camera above everything else, go with P30 Pro!
If you want an amazing phone with consistently great features all around as well as an audio jack, go with S10+!
