Very likeable device. I’ve been using it for over a year as my daily driver. Software is so much optimized, that’s a delight. Battery life is excellent and I never felt the need to plug it fearing it could die before the end of the day. 4G connectivity is stellar, call quality too (excellent under display ear speaker). Bluetooth audio with Dolby Atmos enabled is way better than everything I listened to on Android (only bested by iPhone 12). Screen quality is excellent, but sharpness could be better. Excellent HDR in Netflix, even at low light, HD in Prime Video. Photo sensors are quite unique, with special color rendering, probably dued to Leica partnership. Rendering is not true to life, but it often looks like analog photos. I would have loved more saturation in photos, which I got after light editing in Google Photos. Portrait bokeh is stellar, but color rendition on faces has issues, like graying blue eyes. On main sensor, faces often get yellow shades (some call it zombie face, yes that's true). Wide sensor is too oversaturated, which leads to deceptive photos, and sometimes great surprising ones. 5x tele is often disappointing, since sensor is not fast enough and colors are washed out. Here again, editing is needed. I owned Mate 20x too, and 3x is better managed and a more useful focal lenght. Video is nothing sexy.
Globally, I recommend this device in 2021, since 7 nm TSMC process is way better at not heating up than Samsung 5 nm, and considering OP, Xiaomi ou Pocos I used recently. Huawei P30 Pro is a phone you can count on, same as iPhone. A pity that brand was harmed.

I am an Iphone fan, but had to change to a cheaper phone due to some issues, so I sold my iphone 12 and bought a relatively new xiaomi redmi note 10. Before this, I had very good experience with xiaomi (last one Ive used a few years ago, was a mi max 2), but man this note 10 dissapointed me. Sloppy, camera aint so good, and lets not talk about switching between apps (i. e. swapping from gps to a skype message, 2 sec black screen inbetween), or tapping the screen to check time, it takes 2-3 seconds to light it up? Battery also sucked, and with any misuse before, with a few facebook videos and chat, it shouldnt drain in 8-10 hours (we are talking about an 5000mah battery, arent we?). So I've changed it after 2 days to a huawei p30 pro and man this thing doesen't want to let me down. It is competing with my iphone 12 in every way, only the apple fanboy inside me would say that the ip12 is better, but it isnt. Only thing where the ip12 is beating the p30 pro (in my special case) is that on the ip12 you can use esims. Now I am generally amazed by this p30 pro, and also sad that huawei can't use android after this model. Who knows, maybe I'll try the harmony OS in the future.

        Have 2 phones of P30 Pro. First one, when it comes out recently for about 980euros. Second phone using now for about 500euros. both first generation. I can agree for easy screen scratching. Don't put in pocket with other items. Screen protector-hardened glass are useless because round corners. Better stay without like with. Love this phone because of smooth and fast. Tried before apple and I confirm, this is better like apple. No problems with data transfering and gaming expierence. Picture quality outstanding. Sometimes nightmode auto shots have too greenish. Biggest issue are with sound. When using headphones or earphones sound on max can't hear spotify music, not games or videos. Easely can hear ambient sounds around when listening music. Happened one moment on EMUI11. No clue how to fix. Don't use sound booster, tried, full of ads and are worhless. It's looks like sound level multiplier got cut by half or more, but in latest android versions there no developer options to change this. Somewhat phone internal sound on max is realy loud.
        So there are pros(+):
        Camera quality;
        fast and smooth enough for everyday tasks and powerfull gaming;
        bright colorfull screen;
        battery life (for new phone, it can stay 3-5 days on waiting, for light using some SMS and talking can stay 2-3 days, for hard using gaming and all day talking can stay 4H-1 day);
        loud and clear phone speakers;
        2 SIMs or 1SIM and external microSD;
        cons(-):
        phone size too big (P30 are excelent size);
        screen notch and round edges (sometimes edges are too sensitive, for writing small font it's bad) ;
        screen easy scratching;
        default keyboard Microsoft Swift (can rid trough adb, suggest simple keyboard);
        so much bloatware (can rid with adb);
        homescreen app suggestions (can't remove nor EMUI 9, nor 11);
        no 3.5mm audio out (can't charge and listen audio same time);
        USB C socket degradation on time,
        no Android 11;

        My opnions: still one of the top phones in 2021.

I use it since it launch and I never have issue of the screens get scratches. I do drop sometimes. If u think P30 is a cheap screens because without gorilla glass then put a good tempered glass on it. Protect your daily driver phone.

                      Who knows maybe even u using other phone like iPhone or Samsung phone with good gorilla glass it still will get scratches. Is depend how the user use it. I also got Samsung galaxy note 10 for office use and it got scratches because I less care with this phone.

                        Seeker23, 04 Aug 2021No need the gorilla glass. Speaker loud enough for me. I disagree. Screen gets scratchy incredibly easy, and eBay is full of phones with cracked screen. I'm on my 2nd P30 pro due to cracked scree. If huawei use cheap glass, it should be at least flat so we could use screen protector.

                                Saleem, 11 Jul 2021P30 pro or redmi note 10 pro?On paper Note 10 pro is quite better but in P30 pro actually beat Note 10 pro in almost any aspect except the Note 10 pro comes in Android 11, other than that it's P30 all the way. N10 pro 108 mp camera isn't that good also
