I used to be a Samsung fan & S10 was the last I used. I was a bit hesitant in buying the P30 Pro as I hadn't used any of the Huawei phones in my life until I came across one in a store after playing with it for few minutes, I decided to go for it & I'm glad I made that decision. This phone is freaking amazing with superb battery life and cameras are fun to use, I also get monthly updates which is really awesome.

I got to try it and the only flaw I noti... moreI dont want to influence your decision, but im pretty sure you not gonna regret buying it.
Of course it is only FHD 60hz,not the brightest display, no 3.5mm.but it has a killer battery life and 40w super charger included.
I would recommend the breathing crystal option, stay away from the black one, it is actualy the same dull dark brown color just like mate 20.
If media consumption and gaming on a phone are not your priority than go for it.
Also as the other fella said, there are a ton of good phones for 500 dollars, new midrange or old flagships.

I got to try it and the only flaw I noticed is the slow scrolling in some apps. For example, in chrome, compared to my girlfriend's s9, the p30 pro scrolls much less on web pages. she takes only one movement with her finger to get to the end of the web page while I have to do two. Nothing serious.

Im currently using it and i can ensure you it is still a very good device.
Even after almost two years i can still squeeze 7/8 hours or sot with max screen brightness.
Compared to p40 pro or any recent flagship phone it holds up very well, you can check it on YT.
Im receiving updates constantly, the only small issue i have is chrome is freezing sometimes, maybe 3 times per week.
But is it is used i think 500 is a little to much.
Check on ebay if you can, you can find it for 400 refurbished, or on ebay Kleinanzeigen for 230 like me😄

And you can download apps from petal search, or download full gms (tho it takes some time and patience)

Maybe you purchased non original phone, that's not originally from Huawei. As I know, P30 Pro, still the best phone since 2019. I'm even thinking of buying one now even though it's almost 1yr and half launched. But when you check the specifications of it with some of the new release 2020 phones, you will see that the chipset of p30 pro still remain one of the best.
My only worries is how long will they continue to upgrade or update it with upcoming versions like Android 11,12 or Emui 11,12 respectively

BTW don't worry bout gms its fixable.
Honorable mantions: honor 30/ 30 pro, iqoo 5 and the s10/p30 pro are also a nice choice.
i would recommend you to look these up.

Hi Guys...Im owner of Honor 10, and previously P20pro, and now Im buying new phone, and in my shorlist i have p30 pro and s10 plus. S10 would be go to 100% if it comes with better battery, but it has mediocre battery so i have to move to one size bigger phones, although, im not sure in their practicality...
So my question is, what is long term better investment... I read dozens of opinions concerning Huawei crisis, and none of them didnt mention what is expected in one or two years, when emui 12 comes out or smth like that.... Shall we have updates for google apps?
In that sense, with all that crazy stuff around Huawei, im thinking s10 plus is better investment, although i like p30pro more, because its more narrower, and because of that more practical (you can use it with one hand( and has a better battery life...
And second question is about 5g networks, i dont know how soon it will come to my country, but when that happens, in one or two years, my p30pro would be outdated for sure...
