Huawei P30 Pro handled in a live video, UD fingerprint reader tested

Ro, 20 March 2019

The Huawei P30 family is set to launch next week in Paris but the leaks continue to come in hot. The latest one is a hands-on video showing off the front of the P30 Pro and the under-display fingerprint reader.

As you can see, everything is in line with the previous reports but it was cool to see how fast the in-display scanner works. It looks as if there could be a new unlocking speed champion. The guy on the video put his finger on the screen for a brief second - or even less - and the device unlocked instantaneously.

At this point, we don't know if Huawei is using an optic fingerprint reader or one of Qualcomm's ultrasonic units that we've seen in the Galaxy S10 and S10+. We will find out next week when the phone goes official.
