Huawei  P30 Pro zoom camera tested in leaked camera samples

Peter, 13 March 2019

The Huawei P30 Pro will have a periscope zoom camera – 5x is what we’re hearing, going up to 10x when coupled with digital zoom. We saw some camera samples from Barcelona a week ago, now more photos have surfaced from two different locations.

They show what the camera can do at various focal lengths and with some very challenging lighting. We start with these photos from a concert, which is a digital camera’s worst nightmare – a pitch black venue with bright spotlights.

Note that while most of the images are 10MP shots, the first image on the third row has 20MP resolution. This could be the only shot in the set from the ultra-wide angle camera.

The next set of photos sees the P30 Pro try its hand at wedding photography. The shots illustrate how close you can get to tiny things like jewelry – the wedding band and earrings.

At pixel level these photo's look awful. Sure the circumstances are challenging but of all the shots only the normal shot (gsmarena_002.jpg) is really good. The whites are completely blown-out but that's to be expected. The noise levels are quite goo...
