David Atik, 21 Jun 20201400 Euro for No 120hz,no google services!!! How funny!!!!Huawei didn’t used 120 Hz and instead worked at 90 hz refresh rate in order to make up for the battery, and there really isn’t that much of a difference. The size is marginally smaller, explains the small battery. This phone isn’t for people who are used to the Mate 20 X, or Honor 8X, the S20 Ultra is. And obviously Huawei phones cant use google because of senseless accusations. So to make up for the price they add the best camera system in the mobile world, a ceramic back that reduces heating up, actually making better performance, An impressive display (not the best though), the ability to record 4K 60 FPS on the selfie camera (other phones can do this, but those phones are similarly priced), super fast wireless charging that doesnt destroy battery health as seen on the Oppo 40 W wireless charging, and pretty much great specs all around. Of course it isn’t 1400 euro as of now, you can get it for 7988 yuan, or 1,005 euro, for the 8/256 gb of storage option At vmall (https://www.vmall.com/product/10086882694240.html#10086162155151?validated=true&themeName=red&loginChannel=26000000&reqClientType=26&lang=zh-cn) so yeah I think the price is justified

In fact i would believe the 50 mp sensor is better than the 108 mp sensor on s20 ultra as it is bigger and can catch more details in low-light, and in bright-light

            Wil, 21 Jun 2020This is the Good Phone Better than IPhone 12 Pro Max Bet... moreHuawei P40 Pro+ so good, but...
            huawei too much modeled on other cellphone models, especially Samsung cellphone models. At first glance, this cellphone looks like a Samsung Galaxy S10 + or S10 5G from the front. And behind, like S20, S20 + or S20 Ultra.

            Huawei should have thought of models that have not been made by other brands.

              Great, the max brightness on manual is negligible, but the auto mode is great for viewing under direct sunlight, one disadvantage of the P40 Pro+ gone for me. Now its just mono down firing speaker & mediocre ultrawide viewing angle when compared to S20 Ultra , iPhones, & the dim 10x optical zoom, & the optical finger print reader instead of ultrasonic (but quite ok as it has a very secure FaceID, LOL). Hopefully they could update the 10x optical to produce somewhat goodly lit photos, as I happpen to watch some reviews that in terms of brightness, the 10x is underexposing when compared to S20 ultra where it maintained the overall exposure from 1x to 10x. But still, i'm still eyeing for this phone, hopefully they could release this in the Philippines already as I've been waiting for this for 4 months already.

                            Carabass, 15 Jun 2020Tons of comments about Huawei's innovations here - are you ... moreHmmm. Your first point is false. The AppGallery is Huawei’s alternative to Play store. Why did they need an alternative? Because of some so-called “security issues”? Tell me how much cement, real, proved evidence can you find of any security issues. The AppGallery may not have all the apps on the play store as it has been around for only 1 year. The fact that it has over 1,000,000 developers is incredible! Spyware where do you find spyware? Do you have any solid proof of any chinese spyware on AppGallery? And ads of frickin course there’s ads AppStore has them too!
                            Next we have the glass front. Ok, no Gorilla Glass. That I find true. But a cheap alternative? ITS GLASS. The ceramic back is not only for durability, but also for design. But right now if this was applied to your life you would be like this “OHHHH I CANT HAVE DA BEST TOOTHPASTE OOOOH NOOOOO GUESS ILL GET THE WORST BRUSH TOOOOO”. Huawei doesn’t have access to gorilla glass, but does that mean they give up on the back? Like what?
                            The third point is true. It doesn’t have the best chipset. The GPU is not as good and the CPU is almost there. But the AI and others the 990 absolutely dominates. Antutu doesn’t take AI into account, and so Huawei’s doing a great job.
                            The third is just untrue. This is an OLED display with almost 2K display. And who the frick do you see holding a 4K display? The only top end phone with a 4K display is the Sony Xperia 1 ii. S20 Ultra with 2K, Oneplus 8 Pro with 2K. iPhone 11 Pro Max with almost 2K display too.
                            The fourth has astounded me on how FRICKIN STUPID YOU ARE. The camera has the largest sensor meaning more light intake. Night mode shots on the Pro and Pro+ are the best. The 50 mp sensor gives you great high quality photos. Megapixels aren’t everything. 4K 60 FPS is the average flagship video quality, and honestly this is what they literally scream into your ear about the best camera but I guess you cant really wake up a person pretending to sleep.
                            The mono speaker may not be best quality. The bottom firing speaker is greats though. Audio is one part that it lacks in.
                            The ceramic back takes 5 days to kiln, like what did you expect? Ceramic for free? Top end chip AWESOME camera great display and excellent chip. Of course its expensive. Just take a look at others. You are insulting this so much you are forgetting the display, autofocus problems and unusable 100X zoom on the S20 Ultra.Let’s not forget the Exynos 990, too. The P40 Pro+ has usable 100X due to the 10 X optical zoom. The iPhone 11 Pro Max has 2x optical zoom but hey, np need right? Three 12 mp sensor and a small battery along with 4G is not the best. And so this just makes you absolutely blind about the innovation just because this is Huawei. You look at the Chinese on the western perspective, with no GMS and no access to American goodies. How narrow minded are you? On the other side, the chinese along with many other people see a company thriving despite of everything being thrown at it, a company not able to reach important recourses simply because of accusations with no backing. And honestly I go with their side. So there you have it I took 30 minutes out of my busy day to write and explain to you about the P40 series, how absolutely great it is despite of it’s weakness’s. Goodbye.

                              Carabass, 15 Jun 2020Tons of comments about Huawei's innovations here - are you ... moreYou post reads: brainwashing at its best. Congrats.

                                Tons of comments about Huawei's innovations here - are you kidding me? Seriously?
                                All I can see here is another example of a Chinese state collaborating giant trying to avoid sanctions and mimicking technological advancement simultaneously attempting to secure a place for themselves in the premium segment.
                                As one can see from the comments, their marketing strategy works:
                                - cannot offer GMS to customers - let's hide it under the guise of fighting globalism and monopoly and offer a crappy appstore filled with ads, Chinese apps and spyware. For those persistent customers who still want to have industry-standard GMS offer an option of squeezing them into your phone via a hacking Chinese software;
                                - cannot offer industry-leading Gorilla Glass 6 from Corning - protect your gadget's screen with a cheap alternative without saying it out loud but praise the ceramic body which is the last thing people care about when their phone hits the floor,
                                - cannot equip your flagship model with an industry-leading Snapdragon 865 processor - install Kirin - a Chinese "alternative" which can only compete with generation-old Snapdragons and lags behind 855 in most apps due to the lack of software optimisation while calling it a breakthrough;
                                - cannot offer top display - bundle your phone with a non 4K lowest pixel density screen among top flagships coupled with a selfie camera cutout but call it award-winning mega top design;
                                - cannot ensure more than average photo quality - engage with reviewers to ensure positive reviews.
                                - equip your latest model with mono speaker - just tell everyone that they should feel happy even with one ear.
                                And to avoid any further doubt - go all-in and make the price rocket high to make it feel deluxe. The only problem with this approach is with the brand which remains Huawei which is associated with a low-cost Chinese produce...

I like to take photos, but I do not see myself carrying a camera all the time. And since the best opportunities came on my way to work, a phone with a great camera will be very useful.
                                    Reading the review and all the specs, and even the fact that I own a Huawei, I think I will go for the new Sony EI rev II though. It costs 200 less, has exceptional sound, screen, etc (from what I've read), and the camera quality is almost there with Huawei's.
                                    I do not give a damn about Google. I can live without their crap, but 1400 just for the camera quality is too much.
                                    I think with this phone, they've kicked themselves very hard in the balls.

                                        take care of fast charge. the battery can wear out more quickly by time. one of my former mobiles wore out quickly bc of fast charging.

                                        I now just use a linear charger such as ikea with 3 ports.
                                        when not using the device i store it at 20%. otherwise i charge within 20%-80%.
