Many people didnt tried it or are just afraid to switch to it. I myself thougth that its not gonna work but i was suprised. Im using p40 lite and every app is working fine(messenger whatsup viber, mobile banking apps etc.. apps that are most used).

I like huawei all the device specialy latest models but sad thing is there is no google play for download my favourite apps.
i hopefully Huawei will back all the famous apps in their app store. waiting for that and buy for this stylist device.

The Pros :-
1) Camera Resolution
2) Nightvision Camera
3) Processor
4) Accessbility to the phone
5) Battery Life
Cons
1) Playstore isn't there, takes time to adopt to Huwaei AppGallery
2) Whatsapp backup of chats cannot be on Google Drive so you have to find different ways to transfer data
I overall rate it as 9.5/10

The current problems will be only for devices with google services that will be effected but Huawei has said it will give updates. Anyway huawei p40 and other latest huawei devices relay on Android open source so there will be no problem at all it wilk get proper updates.

I just switched cell from Samsung Galaxy to Huawei P40 Pro. I copied all the apps from the old phone to the new one with Huawei Phone clone. All my apps are available through Huawei AppGallery or Petal search. It's the best phone I ever used.

For new devices that comes with HMS its not at all a problem because it uses Android open source so it will get all security updates and all updates. The only downside of using Android open source is the manufacturer don't get the major update before hand that means for huawei emui 11 it will take more time to develop because when android 11 launches at that time only huawei will get source code. For other manufacturers they will get at beta stage so that they can develop there skins before tge official launch and they can push updates earlier .
And Android open source is free it can be used by anyone that's how huawei used android when America banned google from licensing android. If you use android open source you can't use google services so they came up with HMS. And so far they are going well. Sure it will take time to get all apps that were available on play store but it will get it sooner.

Huawei: Temporary permission expired, all smartphones now without updates?
Is it coming now very big for Huawei? Because now the temporary permit, which has usually been extended since May 2019, has also expired.
Since May 2019, the US government had given Google and Huawei temporary permission so that they could continue to work together for existing devices. This permit was usually extended further after 90 days. But not this time, the permit has expired.
The problem is that devices with a valid license are also affected; they can no longer receive Android updates. Because Google always checks new system updates from the manufacturers for compatibility with Google services. And Google can no longer do that with the older and new Huawei devices.
This could mean that Google Apps no longer work properly on the Huawei smartphones or cause other problems. That would of course be the worst case scenario for Huawei if older devices could no longer properly access Google services and apps.
However, it is not yet exactly known what effects the expired temporary permit will have. Since last Thursday, the US embargo seems to have reached another level. This could even have an impact on the cellular networks in the USA if Huawei technology is still installed there.
But maybe you will be lucky and the permit will be extended again in the next few days. UNITED STATES.
