krissy, 25 Aug 2021....the blades of the fan reflect light....or if they are t... moreIf got anything to do with the blade of the fan, like I said its got nothing to do about the image produced as locked by the Auto processing in the camera settings. The characteristic between 50mp & 12mp still different.
You wrong about a week review from it, now correcting your statement? GSMarena had tones of phones to be compared with rather than you which has a bit. I trust them more than your bizzare comparison method which by your own terms, and not the same as everyone else.
The colors got fixed in Night Mode are its telephoto. Its understandable as the sensor is smaller, slower aperture & the lights are more challenging at night. Do u have a problem of understanding the words?
12mp itself already exceeds a 4K monitor. And u still didnt answer my question, what will u do with that 108mp produced by small smartphone camera sensor? Just a satisfaction by pixel peeping in a monitor?
Decent quality 20mp must at least have 1" sensor size (pixel-binned or bayer sensor res). Its a long way to go for a smartphone, as ergonomics & usefullness design has to be considered.
I dont deny high res even in small sensor produce greater details (minimal), along with your sample. But it also sacrifices dynamic range, noise level, image stacking, contrast, color accuracy (especially Huawei's RYYB), demosaicing, artifacts etc. All you care is about details, details & details above all. When people compared smartphone camera performance, they want to know the pixel-binned quality, as its the most optimized one. Even Professional agrees with it (only use 100mp in Medium Format sensor). But considering by your photo samples that shows your lack of any compositioning & skills, looks like you still has limited knowledge in terms of photography. Sorry I has to say it.

....long term review posted on May 2020, and the phone was released 7th April 2020, yea, earliest pics with date of 07.05 and oldest 25.05, yea slightly over 2weeks of time span, true it's longer than one week 🤣 what do i know, i own the phone for about 1year , silly me *sarcasm end*
and you can clearly see in all of the night pics, they are either yellowish or greenish tinted, too bad the guy who took pics didn't had any other phone to compare to;
he even said taht some colors got fixed in the night mode.....he clearly is not blind 😅
yes, everything bigger than 4K resolution will be digitally downscaled, this means, it does that pixel binning you are so found of, but does not degrade the quality while downscaling, loseless downscaling - bcoz the output file size doesn't matter.
Try it yourself, take a high resolution pic and a low resolution- that is close to resolution of your screen, watch them both on your PC.....noticed something?
Pic resolution needs to be far greater then the device you are watching it on.
and like i said, as the time passes by, the standards change, soon phones will have 250MP cameras made by Samsung;
8K is the current highest standard for TVs, and in few months will be for PC monitors, so having pics from the past in potato quality will not make me happy at all.
I can see that daylight and nighttime 108MP pics are better than what P40pro can do, that is a fact and nothing can change that, the link to the google photos i posted earlier is the proof, how can you deny what you see?

Of course LED are blinking, but I can snap it 100 times & the results will be the same, where 12mp produce better color accuracy.
If youre into photography, u should know a very high resolution on a tiny sensor will produce artifacts & way worse when the lights is dim. Thats why PIXEL-BINNED RESOLUTION ARE CREATED & OEM make it as default resolution in all Quad Bayer sensor phones. I dont want to explain it again because seems like u have no any idea about it - https://www.androidauthority.com/12mp-camera-phones-1060776/
4K monitor are at 3840x2160, 12mp are at 4000x3000, 108mp at 12000x9000. Which are the near res as the 4K monitor? 12mp! All you see 108mp sample on a 4K monitor are just a downscale from it. It cant even handle accurate resolution 🤦. Also, why do u need a 108mp? So can just pixel peep it in a monitor? What do u use it for? Printed it out? On a billboard? 🙄

it's all good and i don't care for google services....until i start to take pics, Huawei has lost it's edge if it comes to pictures, the last phone that was still very good in almost all aspects was Mate30Pro;
...since maybe more than 7months there was no update on the software, while the phone is just over 1year old

Shui8, 23 Aug 2021It doesnt matter how many it blink, results still better &a... moreany LED blinks, now pay attention, that fan of yours has either 3-color LEDs or few LEDs in different colors, they all blink simultaneously, but the light also gets reflected by the fan wings that spin, that fan offers a variable so that no camera can capture pics with same colors or hit the very same moment the fan wings and the blinking LEDs are in sync....
high resolution you say? how come at lower resolution on the P40Pro the pics are then worse than at 108MP on the other phones?
sorry, but at max resolution the pics on S20Ultra and MiNote10 are almost awesome compare to best pic at any resolution that the P40Pro can produce;
i also prefer watching the pics at 4K monitors or TVs, 12MP is not good enough, 20MP barely, and i will be getting myself a 8K 16:9 monitor if they will make any, so i don't want to take potatoe pics and later ask myself why did i even buy phones with 108MP if i don't use them;
i think GSM arena reviews the phones way too positive and after 1 week of use, there can be no reliable review.

The same goes even if I point it to something else. Those are gradient of colors, an easy sample to show you how much it differs (those light arent moving, only the fan).
Stop using high res in tiny smartphone Quad Bayer sensors! Its not meant to be! Do u see any review on the website compared that way? Why GSMarena have no issue about it? 🤦 . I'm glad on this thread there are people aware about this.

Shui8, 22 Aug 2021Here are the examples
https://drive.google.com/folderview?... moredude,you seriously compare pictures based on pics of LED fans or LED screens?
you know that any LED blinks at least 15times per second, and the ones in your screen can go maybe up to 240times per second?
so the camera captures different phases and different colors from the same LED, putting that aside P40Pro as seen on the night pics i took, can barely capture a pic with exact same colors more than twice lol and the more pics i took, the colors became more abstract...green, yellow, black and white, then blurry.

Shui8, 22 Aug 2021Why the heck u shot P40 using 50mp at lowlight? Go to Photo... morebcoz at lower resolution at night S20Ultra beats the other two phones in some cases.....well, that album can be altered and i can add more pictures.....yes i took tons of pictures in various resolutions, with and without tripod, not even once could the P40Pro win the comparison, unless it's about videos;
anyway, there are tons of pics with some red flowers, or whatever that is, check the trees in the background, those have some small white flowers on them, P40Pro nearly ignored the white flowers, but all 3 phones managed to capture the red flowers with nearly same color;
then pics only by Xiaomi without tripod ,from 2019, long before the major updates, bad colors and sharpness, also artifacts are present, but not always.
Be the judge, i suggest you download the pics bcoz can't compare them otherwise in full resolution, then choose best pics, and just then, check which phone did the pictures - your disadvantage is that you have not seen those scenes with your own eyes, so you can't tell which colors are correct...but still.

Notice the big color differences? Its taken at the same time, Photo Mode (12mp) vs Pro Mode (50mp). No Night Mode involves (Huawei does not need Night Mode since P30, beating others just in Auto) Wanna know which one more accurate to the real scene based on what my eyes saw? The pixel binned 12mp one!
RYYB. An extra processing are needed to correct its colors, that processing doesnt happen in 50mp (increasing lowlight capabilities, sacrifice color accuracy). But it only happens when theres an artificial lighting going on, especially in lowlights. The 10mp Ultra Wide has no problem because its using RGGB, same as other brand's main camera.

Quad Bayer sensor are meant to be shot on pixel-binning res! You have to know P40 using RYYB sensor, the color correction processing done when in pixel-binned mode. 🤦 What a bizzare method of comparing camera.
I think I told u already last time, I dont know why u use full res in Quad Bayer sensor, and especially Huawei that has RYYB when the rest are RGGB.

Ivan, 21 Aug 2021I have both - Galaxy S21 5G and P40 pro. 2 months ago I bou... morethe problem with Samsung these days is that the updates break more stuff than fix, on the S20Ultra it took about 6months until they fixed the problems with main camera, the pic quality was ok, but nowhere near where it's at now;
and if you believe what Samsung users write on the Samsung forum page, some of the phones have blurry camera, on some phones the camera stopped working after an update lol
my main issue are the colors, i can tell that P40Pro creates fake colors, if pics taken at night, the colors differ from what i can see with my own eyes so much, that the pics made by P40Pro are useless
idk if i can share here google pics, but let's try, in that google photos album a set of 2 pics for Xiaomi, Samsung and Huawei, if viewed on a PC, you click on the 'i' in the upper right corner , now you can see the full info on the pictures, the ones with the church tower got tripod treatment for each phone, the others hand held, Xiaomi was the closest to obtain the original colors as seen with my own eyes -> https://photos.app.goo.gl/VXgNEGRomgLPvVE47

krissy, 20 Aug 2021bcoz no one owns both Samsung and Huawei flagship U Unt... moreI have both - Galaxy S21 5G and P40 pro. 2 months ago I bought S21 and before that I was using P30pro for almost 2yrs. Honestly Samsung camera came as dissopointment when compared to P30pro. Overall main camera quality and especially daylight photo is better on P40pro. The only thing better on S21 is super steady video and ultrawide camera. 2 weeks ago there was a sale offer in one shop in my country: 399€ for P40pro 256gb... so I couldn't resist and purchased it. When it comes to cameras... Huawei beats samsung in almost every situation - no further debate! When it comes to P30pro and P40pro, I don't see huge difference... I even think P30pro was better in low light. This is just my experience with flagships. Btw S21 is my daily phone because of it's size however 800€+ is too much for what it offers. P40pro I'm taking with me only when I want to take really good pictures. Don't get me wrong, S21 has good camera system... not saying it's bad.

Until you own both of them and maybe the Xiaomi MiNote10, you should stop spreading false information.
Huawei made the best phones and the pic quality was awesome, it was, now it's not.
If it's the pictures quality, 108MP sensor beats the Huawei AI, maybe if Huawei get that sensor, they will be at the top again, maybe.
