Rickson, 24 Oct 2023Hello. Is it worth to upgrade from Huawei P50 Pro to Huawei... moreIt depends if you have any issues with your P50 Pro.

I think the biggest selling point of this phone is the camera. It is seriously impressive with 10x optical zoom and low light performance. That being said, I never owned a P50 Pro and I don't know how much of a difference there is between the two. The P70 Pro will probably have similar or better camera features than the P60 Pro so if there isn't too much difference between the P50 Pro and P60 Pro, I would just wait for the P70 Pro.

I imagine the camera is highest priority if you are by a P-series phone from Huawei but if the processor matters, well unfortunately it's a bit of a mixed bag. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 isn't bad but considering the Xiaomi 14 just came out with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it definitely could be better. That being said, if you don't care about 5G (like me), the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is an improvement over the Kirin 9000 (non-S) in the P50 Pro. The way I see it, the processor for the P70 Pro can go in one of three ways: a new Kirin chip, the current Kirin 9000S, or a newer Snapdragon. Obviously a next gen Kirin chip would be great but with about half a year, I'm not sure if they can design a new chip and get it into volume production in time for a P70 launch. The current Kirin 9000S is an improvement over the P50 Pro's Kirin 9000 (non-S) and supports 5G, but its performance is a bit lower than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the P60 Pro. A newer Snapdragon is possible if Huawei doesn't fix their supply issue in time will mean no 5G support, but it will definitely be an upgrade in performance. Obviously if you aren't much of a mobile gamer, the processor probably doesn't matter all that much to you as long as the user experience is smooth (in which case any of these three outcomes for the P70 Pro would be fine).

Vinaigre, 02 Oct 2023Will it recieve the Kirin 9000 S? Perhaps down the road but at this rate, i don't think so. There was a list of 5g huawei devices that received bluetooth certification a while back but that list didn't include a 5g version of the p60 pro. Also, with how many orders there are for kirin 9000s devices and workers already working overtime, i don't think it would be a very good idea to introduce more kirin 9000s devices at this time. Maybe the supply issues will clear up by in time for a kirin-powered p70 release.

Will it recieve the Kirin 9000 S?

Anonymous, 29 Sep 2023Thanks for the info. I guess I will just have to use Androi... morethese guys are out here selling sanctioned parts in their phones internationally, what stops them from just shipping OS updates that they may or may not get from honor under the table and just have features from newer android versions but not disclose that it is a new android version, just an EMUI update?

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2023Does anyone know if this phone will ever get Android 13 or ... moreUnfortunately, as much as i would love to see huawei include a newer version of android alongside harmony os, it seems incredibly unlikely.

Google refusing to let huawei continue licensing android is the reason why they can't use newer versions of android. So we would need google to have a change of heart.

But even with that, i think its unlikely. Huawei was forced to do so much development and it doesn't make sense for them to just throw it away to go back to google (especially since they don't know if google will do the same thing again in the future).

Furthermore, the reason android 12 is included is to allow users to at least install apks while huawei works on developing google alternatives. There is some talk now that huawei is moving to a completely google-less operating system that won't even include android 12 (harmony os next) now that there are competitive alternatives to apps on the play store.

All in all, everything just seems to point in the direction of huawei becoming more and more independent of google.

Wizzgamer, 04 Aug 2023Because it is the A52s offers a decent 64mp camera with ois... moreNone of Samsung's flagship beyond S20 contain a micro sd slot (Huawei's Nano Memory) and the headphone jack stopped being offered after the S10.
Stop using Samsung's midrange trash that are also getting their jacks and sd slots taken away.

Lore, 23 Jul 2023Btw, if we buy p60 pro from China can you install gbox and ... moregbox works on the china version as far as i'm aware. however, i prefer to use aurora store as i don't need to sign in with a google account and most apps work fine without gbox. aurora store just downloads using links directly from google play using your account (if you choose to log in) or using a public account (if you choose anonymous). if you are interested in using aurora store to anonymously download apps from the play store, this is the flow i personally use:

                          0. you will need to download and install aurora store from their github and firefox (other browsers might work too but this is the first i tried and it worked; the default browser will not work for this, as far as i know). set up aurora store to work anonymously. make sure you give aurora store all the permissions it needs. the only tricky permission is to allow it to open links: for this you will have to add it manually under "unverified links". i also recommend going to spoof manager and changing the spoof device to Google Pixel Tablet. More on this in the first additional comment.
                          1. start aurora store and let it request a session for you.
                          2. go to the play store and search for your app or search for the play store page directly from search engine. one way or another, get to the play store page for the app you're looking for.
                          3. open the firefox menu and press "open in another app". if things are set up properly, it should open up the aurora store page for the app and you can download / install it there.

                          some notes additional notes:
the cpu uses arm cores, so for apps where there are different versions for different cpus (like firefox) the apks you are looking for are the arm64-v8a ones. as a result, some apps might not install properly in aurora store off the bat (in my case, i couldn't update firefox). if you open the aurora store menu and go to spoof manager, you will see it defaults to HWMNA-default. I have so far had no issues after switching to a Google Pixel Tablet spoof. A Google Pixel 7a spoof might also work since it also only supports arm64-v8a apks.
if it looks all broken when opening a play store page in aurora store, it could be that you need a new session. just restart the aurora store app and try opening the play store page in aurora store again.
if you use other app stores like QooApp, they will give you a warning saying the app may not work properly without google services and it will try to get you to install google services. it will then try to get you to install google services, but i wouldn't recommend it. the apps will work just fine without google services and i've heard it's a pain because you can't force the service off so you can't update it.

i use aurora store anonymously but you can also sign in with your own google account. if you do this, you probably will have no issues searching for apps directly within aurora store itself so you don't need to install a browser via apk.

Ok, good phone. But it isn't any Google apps or another apk of Android. If it capable to sideload Google apps and apk of Android apps. It will be nice. Harmony OS Next will be no of Android apps apk sideload.

One of the best phone displays. The curves are around the bezels, so it has all the pros of a curved display without the drawbacks.
