I work in my city’s Town-hall and I was informed I cannot take the phone with me, even if it’s shut down, which is such a bummer. The smartphone was a present… fortunately my wife says that the smartphone is in its return window still so I will sent it back and try to purchase something else — probably something our “own” politicians to surveil us, instead of the far away Chinese party, because they all do the same thing anyway.

And I think it will be much better than the Mate 60 Pro which is already very good.

Anonymous, 18 Nov 2023I would suggest to upgrade with p60 and giveaway the p50 to... moreHuawei phones got a good software system which is however too big for the power system. That's why a phone like Mate 8 get to heat and stop charging. That is too old fashioned and there is need to upgrade the battery size to maybe 6000amh and above and please use upgraded power ICs and a greater charging panel

Had the P60 pro for around 2 months now. Love almost everything about it except one thing; When I record video the audio playback is worse that lousy. I can play videos etc and the sound is superb but if I record the audio is almost unuseable. Great video but crap sound.

Rickson, 24 Oct 2023Hello. Is it worth to upgrade from Huawei P50 Pro to Huawei... moreIt depends if you have any issues with your P50 Pro.

I think the biggest selling point of this phone is the camera. It is seriously impressive with 10x optical zoom and low light performance. That being said, I never owned a P50 Pro and I don't know how much of a difference there is between the two. The P70 Pro will probably have similar or better camera features than the P60 Pro so if there isn't too much difference between the P50 Pro and P60 Pro, I would just wait for the P70 Pro.

I imagine the camera is highest priority if you are by a P-series phone from Huawei but if the processor matters, well unfortunately it's a bit of a mixed bag. The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 isn't bad but considering the Xiaomi 14 just came out with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, it definitely could be better. That being said, if you don't care about 5G (like me), the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is an improvement over the Kirin 9000 (non-S) in the P50 Pro. The way I see it, the processor for the P70 Pro can go in one of three ways: a new Kirin chip, the current Kirin 9000S, or a newer Snapdragon. Obviously a next gen Kirin chip would be great but with about half a year, I'm not sure if they can design a new chip and get it into volume production in time for a P70 launch. The current Kirin 9000S is an improvement over the P50 Pro's Kirin 9000 (non-S) and supports 5G, but its performance is a bit lower than the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in the P60 Pro. A newer Snapdragon is possible if Huawei doesn't fix their supply issue in time will mean no 5G support, but it will definitely be an upgrade in performance. Obviously if you aren't much of a mobile gamer, the processor probably doesn't matter all that much to you as long as the user experience is smooth (in which case any of these three outcomes for the P70 Pro would be fine).

Vinaigre, 02 Oct 2023Will it recieve the Kirin 9000 S? Perhaps down the road but at this rate, i don't think so. There was a list of 5g huawei devices that received bluetooth certification a while back but that list didn't include a 5g version of the p60 pro. Also, with how many orders there are for kirin 9000s devices and workers already working overtime, i don't think it would be a very good idea to introduce more kirin 9000s devices at this time. Maybe the supply issues will clear up by in time for a kirin-powered p70 release.

Will it recieve the Kirin 9000 S?

Anonymous, 28 Sep 2023Does anyone know if this phone will ever get Android 13 or ... moreUnfortunately, as much as i would love to see huawei include a newer version of android alongside harmony os, it seems incredibly unlikely.

Google refusing to let huawei continue licensing android is the reason why they can't use newer versions of android. So we would need google to have a change of heart.

But even with that, i think its unlikely. Huawei was forced to do so much development and it doesn't make sense for them to just throw it away to go back to google (especially since they don't know if google will do the same thing again in the future).

Furthermore, the reason android 12 is included is to allow users to at least install apks while huawei works on developing google alternatives. There is some talk now that huawei is moving to a completely google-less operating system that won't even include android 12 (harmony os next) now that there are competitive alternatives to apps on the play store.

All in all, everything just seems to point in the direction of huawei becoming more and more independent of google.
