I am undecided whether to go for P8 or Honor 7. They are very similar except for NFC and camera. Anyone can point other differences which makes one better than the other? The battery although greater on the Honor 7 seems not that much better. What about the GPU?

Excelent Phone, good battery life, most of the time in snapchat and whatsapp and it gives me around 8 hours of non stop usage. I have one question though... How do I update the EMU and the phone. I have not recieved any updates, and to tell you the truth, it has been way too much with lollipop

I bought p8 about a year ago.. Now it's dead. Totally dead. And there is no solutions to repair it except change the mainboard. You know how much money to be paid? I bought that device in july 15 and never faced any serious disatvantages.

Today I was in a hurry, brushing teeth quickly and then the accident happened:

Due to my wet hands I dropped the device by accident directly into my bath.

Fishing it out the water I was gettin quite nervous couse I estimated my phone was dying.

However, there was no damage at all!!

Looks like the water resistance is way better than estimated :)

PS: Dont test this at home ;)

Have been using the P9 for 8 months now, with zero problems. No overheating, good battery life (no drain in idle mode when in airplane more at night for example), good gaming performance in 3D, and updated with Marshmallow.
One strong point that is often ignored is the audio output quality which is above the rest (except the S7). If you listen to a lot of music with pricey earphones, you WILL hear the difference.
Another thing worth mentioning is the stellar quality of the screen: white color is really white: this is fantastic when you like reading ebooks outside. Compare with an ipad, iphone with the P8 side by side: their whites come out a bit greyish in comparison. The P8 screen is truly great.

One complaint is the stupid EMUI layer, but I installed NOVA launcher and that was solved.

The camera takes good pictures, and compares favorably to SOME of the best phones, BUT when I compare same pictures taken with my iphone 6S... well, the iphone 6S is still LEAGUES ahead of the huawei camera.

For example, take pictures in bright sunny day of white mountains with blue sky and green forests, or a white sand beach with a turquoise blue lagoon (I did, both cases), and the P8 pics will be ok.. but never, never as good and deep in colour and contrast like what an Iphone 6s does. The difference is stunning in some cases.

So lower your expectations, the P8 is not a S7 or a Iphone 6S even if Huawei claims so.

Another annoying problem is the lack of 5Ghz wifi. When streaming Spotify to a bluetooth speaker, for example, your wifi MAY become so slow as to be unusable with some (many) routers (and without wifi, streaming music is of course useless).

Where my old S2, S3 and even Iphone 4S had no problem managing wifi AND streaming music over BT, the P8 is struggling more often than not (thankfully, not always, if you have a good router, not some junk shoved upon you by your provider). In this day and age, this is inexcusable!!!!

Huawei support (in their online troubleshooting doc) officially blames bluetooth and wifi protocols for using same 2GhZ frequencies and therefore claims that your P8 must use Wifi OR bluetooth, not both at the same time. RIDICULOUS.

Huawei engineering is seriously lacking, they can't solve a problem that Samsung and Apple solved 5 years ago already on their S2 and Iphone 4!

So beware, you get what you pay for, I still recommend the P8 as it is now discounted.
