I have been using a P9 for more than two years. Been struggling with dropped voice calls especially (but not limited to) when driving and data disconnects. I assumed it was network related. I decided to install the same sim card into an old iphone (4s) and after a full day of calling not a single dropped call. Sharing this hopefully it will save somebody a lot of frustration.

I bought my Huawei P9 in August '16. The last update i received was in April '17, that's 8 month of updates for a top model at that time. Right now there are still several known and unpatched security issues with bluetooth, wifi, and others, which were not and will not be patched.
Also if the performance of that mobile device was cool and great at that time, i cannot recommend any product of such a company.

Anji, 21 Feb 2019I've been using this for about two and a half years now. Me... moreMy battery lasted just under 12 months it switches off if the camera is used of if it's low enough percentage left just the torch will do the same , if using the camera or video with the flash or light on it can shut down with 70 percent on the battery. After shutting down it will not restart no matter what hard restart etc ...very inconvenient if you have 70 percent battery and no charger on you ........ I gave a two year phone contact and a broken phone so I need to go and buy a new one at a cash up front expense it will have to be cheap but at least I can get a Sony Samsung in a budget range of 2 to 3 hundred Euro I'm currently looking at a Samsung A7 64gig 2018 euro front Komplet for 259.00 euro
Had a Sony zx4 before this phone at least it lasted two years. I have been buying phones sinice I turned 19 that's nearly 24 years and have never experienced a phone as bad as this in battery quality putting that aside the phone is amazing... so big question to huawei is when are you going to put proper warranty on your batterys 4 months says you don't care about keeping customers......

I've been using this for about two and a half years now. Me and my sister both have the same phone although she bought it after a few months. I had the battery draining problem when the camera was turned on. Had to change the battery two times to get the issue sorted. but now some of my apps are missing after the factory rest. I read that it has happened to others who had to reset the phone a few times.
Anyone know how to fix this? Now I don't have themes, camera, calculator, mirror, Alarm and calendar. I downloaded some apps for it.: /
Apart from that the phone works good. same as usual.

A-N-D.... Which battery or which brand battery u r using ur experiment of using other brand s battery may be helpful 4 other p9 users as well.

I found in specs here "- 24-bit/192kHz audio". Where did you find this in this phone??
Yes, it definitely has a problem with battery after a while, and it usually appears when you try to make a photo. I've changed battery to the new one from another brand, and it really worth it! Battery problem totally disappeared! I even tried to make photos when it was just 15% of battery - and always it was fine. But it's pretty hard to change the battery yourself, be careful. And I would recommend to avoid fast charging if possible - it's harmful for the battery.

Battery great, performance great, display great. For me it is a great experience so far. I don't think i will find any other similar experiences with other smartphones as with P9.

Firstly which is better, Huawei P9 or Sony Xperia xz?
Secondly in 2019, which is better, Huawei P9 or Huawei P10 lite? The P10 has oreo and not sure if it will get android P, but the P9 is stuck on Android 7. Has the emui 8 update been released for the p9 as per Huawei's plans?

Two years and a half with this phone. Great performance, amazing camera, still runs pretty quick all kinds of apps after almost 3 years of use.
I've only faced two problems with it: First one is the battery which only lasts half a day by now. I, however, consider this issue as an expected one considering how much I've used so far. Second one is the GPS. It's a bit slow at the start and quite inaccurate, specially in apps like Waze.
Overall it has been a compelling phone, and if it weren't for the current state of its battery I wouldn't plan on change it this year.

Huawei Service Center Indonesia said, it was motherboard problem, needed to be changed that cost it for almost new price of Huawei P8lite. Fail product.
