Gmail does not work but you can log in to your Gmail account in the Huawei email app, and it works fine.

Disgusting phone I brought Y8p on October 22nd 2020
I am using the phone in good handling even I dint remove the sticker at the backside I have placed good quality phone protecting cover and without falling this phone shape has changed looks like half moon now I went to Huawei service center and they are telling it cannot be replaced in warranty whereas I em surprised this phone they made it in very cheap quality otherwise how come without falling phone can be shapeless so please don't spend ur money for this cheap product may be this phone may burst while talking who knows what quality products they are using inside

Huawei y8p is the best phone i hv ever used. its up to my specifications. Those who are worried abt google services dont hv a problem, there is a way u can download all the google apps n use the fon smoothly. i hv been able to get all my google apps n really enjoying the phone. Huawei technologies is the best. i wont use samsung anymore.

Is there a way to install Google apps services and google play?
The phone is great but it lacks GMS
and GoogleFier does not work with the latest version of the firmware
Any help?

U right but price is matter between these two phones. Huawei y8p 24,000 shillings in kenya ≈ 217 dollar but honor play 4t pro is 278 in kimovil.com
is 278 - 292. I found The price of Huawei y8p in just googling. (U can find it easily)
In my country with that price i can buy redmi 9 and galaxy a21s witch a21s have hd lcd display with lower cpu score (but have better battery for bigger capacity and fast charging & 8nm chipset) and redmi 9 with just having 13mpx main camera and 3 more camera (same as this one with extra 2mpx) but better cpu score.
In this price range Huawei have better display and enough cpu score plus good camera setup and fair battery.
Most unique feature of this phone is light weight witch u cant find it easily in this price range.😘

u must do some research about it.
none of new phones of huawei with android 10 support google play just like Y9A & others.
they just have HMS, something like App gallery Huawei.
but look like phones like Honor 9x(china), Honor 9x pro, Honor 20s & etc. with android 9 + kirin 810 they support google play in some ways.
p.s: this phone u have it. also have chinese version Honor Play 4T Pro

The phone doesn't work with Google app and is not good..... I don't know that until I brought the phone and I don't like it because all my app and work are based on Google most expecially some app I used to used for my work...

Pros.
Very slick, Well built Phone
Light, not bulky
Cheap with these features
in screen finger print scanner
Amoled Screen That's beautiful
Fast enough for most games, lag free.
no google sevices
Huge amount of ram and space.
great battery life.
Very good value phone.
Cons
no google services, seems fairly difficult to install without root. Most work arounds don't work that i have tried but to be honest i don't really need it.
PlayStore you can use Aurora Store which is also much nicer.
VMOS If you need google maps, youtube or gmail.
There's alternatives to all google apps that are often better. Some google apps like Google 2FA still work.
