I came here before i bought the phone and left thinking it would be O.K, but the full on truth is that it is the worsed phone on the planet. My Advice is No1. If you do buy one, DONT buy it off of ebay, it is much easier to send it away for repair if it is on a plan and No2. Dont buy it at all just go for apples iphone its a much more reliable name and the reviews are better than this one.
Over all you would be waisting you money on the phone, mine has been sent away to the repairer about 4 times and still dosnt work properly.

Imate= Over priced and under weight Door Stop

i got a imat jasjam about 1 and a half years ago. It is an awesome phone - when it works but the truth is that out of the whole15 months that i have had it i rekon it worked properly for about 2 months of that. I sent it in for repair, they said they fixed it - 3 weeks later the same thing. it kept freezing, shutting down, not hanging up calls. touch zcreen out of calibration all the time, So i would recommend this type of phone but not this one. The person at the mobile shop said that she has had heaps of them coming back for this problem. So guys i would have to say it is the most user friendly phone/pda that i have ever used but the most unreliable that i have ever used. NOT RECOMMENDED!!!!

To get back to factory setting:

While holding left and right soft buttons together, press the soft reset hole (just above the battery compartment unlock slide switch) with your stylus. Follow the two instructions on the screen (Pressing R and pressing space bar). Make sure you have done all the backup before doing this.

You can first try “Clear Storage” in Settings->System page. This probably has to same effect as the above.

In mobile phone competition, it hard finding the best but reliable one. In a gadget debate, QWERTY keypad, processor, Windows Mobile 6.0, WIFI & touch screen is the next in line to laptops. Don't mind if a unit is old, SEE it's awesome features. N95 & K850i had no MS Excel & Word - programs that you always use only in your home & office computers. You can't install SOFTWARES in it, that's why it is called celphone not POCKET PC. Be a pro in a kid's play.

Someone asked that he can not find it because its old!!! You want to buy mine? I just baught it last Novemebr and it is the WORST machine I have ever used in my life. It gets stuck a lot, the keyboard is tricky to use, no updates with my agent here, they claim if you get Mobile Windows 6 on it then your warranty is void BUT they will not take it back since it sucks!
It is the worst 700$ I have ever spent....

Once the phone is upgrade to WM6. The phone will automatically detect the mp3, tat mean you can set the sms alert just like the usual way. Cool eh?

i actually have a good mobile but of course facing the problem of low memory and some hanging ,i am thinking of a touch screen mobile as i have lots of contacts and calendar appointments , i also do a lot of presentations so i need an i mate, yet , i am so afraid of the sophistication , i am afraid i pay much money and i dont use all the available benefits , i am also afraid that the option written on the site are just for marketing , they are not real , i am so confused , what shall i do , shall i go for it or compare with other similar ones ??? I actually dont know its price yet , this may be another surprise , is it relatively expensive?

To use an MP3 track as a message alert tone, convert it to the AAC format then store it in the Rings folder which is in the Windows folder (Windows>Rings>.

so far so good only once in a month hanging which is the sign i need to switch off the phone for a while at least once per month. Since i bought only 2 functions i dunt know how to use. 1. video call, i still dunt know how to use it and more worst until now i dunt know hpw to switch on front camera. 2. isp profile, sometimes i go to secret receipe for free account to surf but unlikely my jasjam always connect to current gprs setting which cost me. Anyone can help?

I would like to give due allowance to this otherwise excellent phone (definitely an equivalent of a 8-year old computer). I would not crib much about its slowness.

But if the ringer stops to ring from time to time, how many times can one keep resetting the device to get the phone to ring?

Something I've wanted to put out there for a while.

I work in a phone shop and as such see a fair number of JASJAMs coming through for repairs. I own a JASJAM myself, and as much as I'll acknowledge any legitimate phone problems that require repair, many "problems" that people have with their PDA type phones is their level of expectation.

For all intensive purposes, a phone of this capacity is the equivilant of a 5 or so year old computer, which is also running as phone. It is understandable that with enough programs running, it will begin to get slow, or even crash - that is not a problem, that's just realistic, reset the phone and move on.

Again, if the complaint is recurring and severe, take it in for repairs, but be realistic in your expectation for a phone that is running an operating system far beyond windows 3.11 (and not quite 95)
