I have the qtek 9100 now for one week. installed pocketmechanic on it and HANGS. set it back to factory defaults and it works perfect. My advice : be carefull with installing additional software, the device works fine with standard software. it is not as fast/responsive as desktop pcs but I fist had a P900 but this one tops it. 2nd quarter the HERMES will come to the market with a processor double speed but I like this one more then enough. THe keyboard it perfect. Don't expect a Pentium 3.4 GHZ but expect a very good fone....enjoy

The battery life gets better with a few days of use. I have had it on for the past two days and the battery is at 27%. I was upset to the first few days. Make sure you only use the Wifi when you need to. Don’t leave it on!

it is a cool phone. love the keyboard and sliding mechanism. sturdy. problem is the battery. the battery hardly lasts a day with just few minutes calling approximately, 60 minutes. needs daily charging. while using skype, this finishes off the battery power in faster speed. window mobile 5.0 is a great improvement and offers alot to its customers and users, unfortunately, the battery limits everything. the battery that came with my unit is sanyo model WIZA16 1250mAh... is this what you have too?

            Hi Guys,

Please tell me about over-all performance of the phone. I m gonna buy it. Its not as such cheap fone which i can buy and try. I just want to be sure that i am buying really good thing.

            Some specific questions:

            1) Some people claim its slow and halts/restarts frequently, what you say?

            2) Flip fone and sliding flips can go out of order soon, so anyone having problem with sliding keypad?

            3) what about camera result?

            4) How do u rate the voice quality, while playing Audio Mp3, any comparison with Sony Ericsson's W800i or W550i?

you reply will be appriciated, thanks

No, you do not have to turn the phone part off to use the Wifi. You can still receive calls while surfing wifi. Wifi seems a bit sluggish at times.

Question for other owners... Did your Wifi speeds increase when you popped in a SD card?

Great phone... I have had no problems with it turning off or resetting at random. It is quite stable for Microsoft. The battery life does become problematic along with the fear of dropping the device. I don’t want to test its durability.

I"m wondering how long the battery lasts on kjam if u use the pda functions such as reading, surfing net, etc. My ipaq pda battery runs out very fast, maybe after 2 hrs of use. Or should i go for imate sp5m?

Have anyone tried to use wi-fi and the phone together? Some PPC phone need the phone function disabled in order to use wi-fi. Just want to verify before my purchase, thanks.

Hi there Umesh, regarding ur queries the replies are

U can use both, ur fingers (rather thumb) to type on the querty keyboard or the stylus on the screen keyboard

I have a K-Jam for the past 1 week and it still continues to amaze me. A colleague of mine has the Jasjar and today he too wants to migrate to K-Jam. Let me specify both are excellent PDA phones only plus point for me is that K-Jam still looks like a moblile phone and can be held on the ear without getting wierd looks from people

Skype is available with JASJAR, but mine (ie K-Jam) which I bought from UK did not have SKYPE in it.

                              MSN messenger already on board

For the K-Jam today 2 GD mini SD card is available in UK, but costs around two and a half times that of 1 GB mini SDcard (I have a 1 GB mini SD card)
NO recent models after this, boy this is the LATEST and a lot in demand.

I am on Mumbai(India) network of Airtel and it works perfectly well with the Indian Sim cards

Support two lines? u mean two SIM cards? then no! but call waiting then that is dependent on the network provider and yes its possible on Indian networks

Hope this answers all ur queries

                              Happy Purchasing

Is tuch screen keyboard is available or u need to use fingers to type?

                                Some one please reply.

                                I am planning to buy.

                                Choices Jasjar or K-JAM

I heard K-JAM is having inbuilt Skype software is it true and does Jasjar have it?

Any other messenger clients available? Like ICQ, Yahoo, GoogleTalk?

Whats the maximum size memory card available and which type of card is best?

Any recent models after these two? I am planning to buy one from Dubai Shopping Festival. After 5th of Jan. What Price in US$ I should expect?

Will that phone work in India with Idea Cellular Service?

                                Does it support two lines?

Can all the experts / users answer my questions?

                                Help me.

                                Thanx n Goodwill.

                                UmeshG.
