That makes two people who have already recommended the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G.

I don't know much about MediaTek as I'm not much of a tech guy, but I just finished reading people's opinions on GSMArena about the MediaTek Dimensity 8050 being a rebadged version of the 1300 (and that one also being a rebrand of the 1200). Many of them seem to consider it trash and obsolete in 2023.

So, I was wondering if anyone here considers the MediaTek Dimensity 8050, which is in the Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G, a good option that can still withstand the test of the next two years, at least, for a mid-range phone.

I understand that the perfect phone doesn't exist anyway, but I want to make sure that two years down the line, I'm still happy with my decision.

viclanry, 25 May 2023Hi, Could you please guide me in making an informed deci... moreTechnically speaking, the devices are all equal when it comes to battery as they're all 5000 mah. However, we should always keep in mind that a more powerful processor consumes more energy. It sounds like you are a gamer so you can already consider G99 or the Dimensity 8050 as those are optimised for gaming and all-rounder chipsets. The UMI's chipset can also game but not as hard as those two devices you mentioned. UMI's advantage of the two devices is the camera as it has a Sony IMX sensor, you can't go wrong with it. But since camera performance isn't really your priority, then we should remove UMI from your option.

Just to make things clear, I'm not against Infinix and this is just my personal opinion but the wireless charging and JBL speakers are just for gimmicks to compensate for the chipset. You really don't need those features and you can live without them. Besides, you can use your Bluetooth speaker to amplify your sound experience and there's a scientific study that wireless chary could potentially degrade the lifespan of the battery fast compared to wired.

If I were to personally choose from the devices you've given, I'd simply choose Tecno. The important part of all is the chipset which is the brain of the device. It has the new Dimensity 8050 which can definitely game and it comes with 5g. It's best to future proof your device compared to the G99 with only 4G. That already tells a lot and you can tell that the 8050 is more advance.

Anonymous, 25 May 2023Buy neither. Get Poco f5 proThanks for the suggestion but it's outside of my budget for a smartphone right now.

I’ve listed all three that are within my budget range already.

Could you please guide me in making an informed decision?

I'm currently torn between three budget smartphones - Umidigi A13 Pro Max 5G, Infinix Note 30 Pro, and Tecno Camon 20 Pro 5G.

I want to make sure that I choose the best option that I can use for at least two years before I consider buying a new one.

As a freelancer, my phone is always in use throughout the day, and I'm also an avid player of efootball PES 2023.

If you had to choose one of these three phones, which one would you recommend?

Please consider battery life, heavy usage, chipset, processor, and other important features in your response.

                    Thank you!

I wish they could just downgrade the phone camera and AMOLED display to a better prosessor. Maybe they can create a different model with camera specs just like Redmi Note 12S or X Zero Neo.

I personally more into game, that why I'm choosing infinix cuz it's a gaming+budget phone.

Like for Xiaomi and other Chinese brands, the newest android update like 2 years after the phone release will always make your phone slower due to poor optimization. I'm speaking from experience.

Android updates are supposed to increase optimizations and efficiency while distributing new features and increasing device longevity.

Im sure the software is basically terrible, even worse than Funtouch.

anonymous, 18 May 2023No android update ! No need to buy.do you really care about Android updates on a budget phone? New Android updates will make your underpowered device laggy. It's better to have the version it comes out with. No need to update if it's performing well because new updates will most likely degrade the performance. If you're a casual user who only use phone for social media and want new features like new emoji then go ahead.
