Tecno Spark Go 2024 vs Infinix Smart 8

There you go, you wanted rebrands, well there is a true example, I never said Tecno and Infinix doesn't do rebrands, they do, you just made all the wrong examples, but these are two are identical.

The chip is extremely old! Its the same G99 from more than 2 years ago but with a different name! I have Tecno Pova 4 with G99 and I'm telling you that its barely acceptable performance wise, no way to imagine some one buying a new phone with this fossilized chip!

Using that sa... moreImagine walking into the biggest shopping mall in your city, surrounded by hundreds of different smartphone models. As you browse, two models immediately catch your eye. Something about their design, their elegance, draws you in, and without overthinking, you decide to buy both.
Unbeknownst to you, these two phones are actually identical twins—rebranded versions of the same device. But that doesn’t bother you. You love their aesthetics, their presence, and each time you use them, they feel just as beautiful in your hands.
Now, imagine it like this: it’s as if you’re dating a cute and charming girlfriend. Every day, she seems to have a slightly different personality, but you don’t think much of it—you just appreciate her uniqueness. Then, one day, on a weekend date at her favorite café, you step away to place an order. When you return, you stumble upon an unexpected truth—your girlfriend has an identical twin, and they’ve been taking turns dating you all along because they both like you.
Rather than being upset, you find yourself even more captivated by the situation. Instead of a problem, it turns into something exciting—your relationship naturally evolves into a threesome, where the affection is shared, and you embrace the unexpected twist of fate. Happy Ending 😁

DarlingYext, 15 Mar 2025Well, they aren't the same either..
The Infinix is ... moreSince 2023, the consumer electronics industry especially the mobile sector has reached a Technological Saturation Point (TSP). This means smartphone manufacturers now have little choice but to introduce small, incremental upgrades each year to keep the market engaged and prevent a slowdown.
To stay competitive, different brands take different approaches. Some focus on specific hardware improvements, others work on better battery efficiency, AI advancements, or camera technology. However, these upgrades are introduced gradually because many manufacturers are now hitting the limits of current technology. To navigate this, companies hold strategy meetings with their Advanced Innovation Committees (AICs)—teams of researchers and engineers tasked with developing next-generation breakthroughs.
Take Samsung, for example. Instead of rolling out major hardware upgrades this year, they introduced One UI 7.0, a software refresh that sets itself apart from One UI 6.1, even though the hardware remains unchanged. This move buys them time to refine next year’s models, particularly their next-gen camera sensors.
This strategy has become essential for smartphone brands, ensuring stable production cycles while maintaining or even increasing annual profits. With innovation becoming more challenging, companies must balance technological progress with business sustainability, carefully planning their product roadmaps to stay ahead in an increasingly competitive market.

DarlingYext, 15 Mar 2025Well, they aren't the same either..
The Infinix is ... moreJust admit it, you know I’m right. You tried to justify yourself, but despite being told the truth, you stayed stubborn and ended up embarrassing yourself.
In the smartphone industry, companies create sub-brands and different models that are essentially just repackaged or rebranded versions of the same device. This strategy is always present in certain series to give consumers multiple choices, but in reality, it’s all about driving sales within the same company.
That’s why I know more about this than you. I was just having fun with this debate. You’re not entirely wrong, but you’re not completely right either. This kind of strategy is used by almost every brand—Transsion Holdings, BBK Electronics, Xiaomi, Samsung—you name it. I’ve been observing how companies swap specs and rebrand devices for years, and it’s nothing new. Sure, I’ve only been following this industry for two years, and you’ve been around for 13, but you just don’t want to admit it. That said, I’ll give you some credit this is a corporate strategy, and I’m not here to pick sides or recommend the best brand. This is the last time I’ll engage in this conversation, so things will go back to normal.
For me, it’s not about proving I know more about smartphones. I just enjoy high-spec devices, and software stability is my second priority. I’m not a smartphone technician or an expert I’m just an active fan of certain brands, sharing my personal opinions.
So, to sum it up yes, identical smartphones exist, and they’re always linked to related models. Sometimes they launch in the same year, sometimes a year apart, and sometimes even four years later. Rebranding has always been part of the game, giving consumers multiple options while keeping them within the same ecosystem. Some companies release 10 identical models a year, others 30, and some even 60–100. Take BBK Electronics, for example they own Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, and Realme, and a large number of their models are just rebranded versions of each other.

The Infinix is newer, launched with Android 14 over Android 13, has faster wired charging, has wireless charging, has OIS on the main camera, and has a curved AMOLED screen instead of a flat LCD. Different designs too.
..you are simply unable to compare phones.
https://m.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?&idPhone2=12747&idPhone1=12876
There are Infinix and Tecno phones that are exactly the same, you just couldn't find them, and you've mentioned Zero 50 series being one, which it isn't and won't be, and it doesn't even exist, it was just a bad example.

Using that sa... moreHowever, Transsion Holding's performance in the cellphone recycling project is not as deficient as that of BBK. A comparison of Infinix and Tecno, which are sold at low prices in Asia, with Oppo, Vivo, and Realme, which are more expensive in Asia but aimed at the entry-level market, reveals a divergence in profit margins and sales volumes. The former strategy has been implemented in an effort to boost global sales, though it has resulted in many less popular models failing to reach their sales targets. Ultimately, Transsion Holding developed a comprehensive e-waste phone strategy, which included the release of at least 60 name models with identical specifications.

These phones have different features, different designs, different cameras, Infinix has curved display vs Tecno's flat one, Tecno has faster wired charging, but Infinix has wireless charging as well. They both came from Transsion Holdings yes, but they aren't the same devices.

Redmi Note 11 Pro+
Benefit have microSD slot , 5G , price $200-$250"
Other benefits:
- outdated software, no software updates
- outdated camera setup with no OIS on the main camera, and a 2MP macro camera
- cheap build quality, with plastic middle frame and plastic frame
- only IP53 rating instead of IP64, or better
- no wireless charging
- potential bootloop issues like on most non-flagship Xiaomi phones
Not to mention that this is an old phone, you can not find it new, and even you find one that is still sealed, it's still a phone with no warranty left and one that was made years ago, thus the battery has already aged inside it.
