Infinix Zero Flip review

GSMArena Team, 20 December 2024.

Introduction

Infinix's pioneering attempt at foldables is here, a Flip joining the brand's more upmarket Zero line of phones. Closely related to one of sister brand Tecno's latest efforts, the Infinix Zero Flip isn't really a first-gen product but more of a mature entrant to the clamshell foldable space, and it's coming in at a more than reasonable price.

Infinix Zero Flip review

The compact foldable features an enticing triple camera setup with 50MP sensors all around and niceties that even the current Galaxy of the same breed doesn't offer. You get autofocus and a flash for the selfie shooter, and there's autofocus on the ultrawide on the back too.

The 6.9-inch bendy panel and the large 3.64-inch cover display are both OLEDs and both have a 120Hz maximum refresh rate, plus you get plenty of functionality on the cover. The generous 4,720mAh battery promises plenty of active hours, while the 70W charging rating should ensure speedy top ups.

Infinix Zero Flip review

There are a couple of areas where the Zero Flip's more budget caliber shows, but there had to be some trade offs. For example, the chipset isn't exactly a powerhouse, though it should be plenty good enough - about on par with the Razr 50's silicon. What the Razr does better is water sealing though - the Zero Flip doesn't have an IP rating. The software update policy isn't exactly stellar either.

Infinix Zero Flip unboxing

In today's context, the Zero Flip's retail bundle can almost be called lavish. Not only do you get a charger (a pretty high-spec 70W one) and a cable, but there's also a two-piece protective case with a finger holder. But that's not all - a set of USB-C earbuds is included too - when's the last time you saw one of these?

I still don’t understand the significance of foldable phones. No matter how the manufacturers promote it, the creases are obvious after using it for a week.
