iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 will come to these iPhones and iPads
Apple is due to unveil iOS 18 and iPadOS 18 in a few short hours during its Worldwide Developers Conference today, and ahead of the AI-filled announcement you may have been wondering whether your devices will actually get these as updates.
According to a source "with a proven track record" on the matter, iOS 18 will not drop any iPhones. So it will basically come to all of those which got iOS 17. Update: Apple's official announcement confirms it. This means the iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and later, as well as the 2nd and 3rd generation iPhone SE.
On the iPad front, things aren't exactly as rosy, as three tablets will be dropped and thus won't receive iPad OS 18. We're talking about the first-generation 10.5" iPad Pro and the second-generation 12.9" iPad Pro, as well as the sixth-generation iPad.
Thus, iPadOS 18 will arrive as an update to iPad Pros from 2018 and later, as well as iPad Airs, minis, and vanilla iPads from 2019 and later. An additional thing to note here is that the "Apple Intelligence" suite of AI features is only expected to work on iPads powered by Apple's M series chipsets.

I didn't catch that lmao, it's pretty strange that a more powerful but a year older device doesn't get it
