More iPhone 16E specs appear
The next iPhone SE apparently won't be called that anymore, but instead will go with the iPhone 16E moniker. According to a recent report, this should be launching by April, and today we have a list of specs for it courtesy of Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station.
Think of the iPhone 16E as an iPhone 14 with some changed bits here and there and you'll get the picture, as it's said to have the same 6.06-inch FHD+ LTPS OLED screen with 60 Hz refresh rate and a notch for the (new to the SE series) Face ID tech.
It also gets a flat metal frame, a single rear camera, a water resistance rating, and the Apple A18 chip, which is the biggest upgrade in tow when comparing it to the aforementioned iPhone 14.
The iPhone 16E will be the cheapest iPhone according to the same source, based on its launch price, which has in the past been rumored to be $499. That would make it $70 more expensive than its predecessor from 2022, but the chipset upgrade is probably worth that alone, not to mention the addition of Face ID and an OLED screen. Oh, and the 16E will also support Apple Intelligence thanks to its rumored 8GB of RAM.

I dont get it why would anyone go with the iPhone 14 for the same price and then lose out 2-3 years of software support over going with the 16E ? Now that the SE is same size and everything. The older model have no benefit to buy on lower price. 14 n...

They should stick to LCD. Not a single device from apple with that type anymore. Not everyone can use amoled screens cause of Pwm dimming. Also it would be cheaper and they could implement 120hz without rising price.
