iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition hands-on

iQOO recently completed four years in India, and to celebrate the milestone, iQOO's Indian branch launched the iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition. We got our hands on one, so let's see what it's all about.

The iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition comes in Desert Red color, but its retail package is the same as that of the iQOO 12's Legend and Alpha models. It includes a protective case, a SIM ejector tool, a charging cable, and a 120W power adapter.

The iQOO 12's Legend and Alpha versions have glass back panels, while the Anniversary Edition has a faux leather finish. The latter gives the device a nicer in-hand feel, prevents fingerprint smudges, and helps with grip.

iQOO says the iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition's back cover is made with a new leather rubbing process, which "creates a unique wind-printed texture like a desert." The iQOO logo on the rear now has a metallic effect and reflects light. It is also etched into the panel.

The new finish has also made the Anniversary Edition 5.2 g lighter than the regular version of the phone.

iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition • iQOO 12 Legend • iQOO 12 Alpha

Putting these differences aside, everything between the iQOO 12 Anniversary Edition and the Legend and Alpha models remains the same. That means you get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, a 6.78" 120Hz LTPO AMOLED screen, and a 5,000 mAh battery with 120W charging.

The smartphone features a 16MP selfie camera and sports a triple camera setup on the rear comprising 50MP primary, 50MP ultrawide, and 64MP periscope telephoto units. You also get an in-display fingerprint scanner, NFC, and stereo speakers.

The pricing is also the same: INR52,999 ($635/€585) for the 12GB/256GB model and INR57,999 ($695/€640) for the 16GB/512GB version. The Anniversary Edition will go on sale in India starting April 9 through iQOO's official Indian website and Amazon.in.
