Leica Leitz Phone 2 launches in Japan
Following up last year’s Leica Leitz Phone 1 is the aptly named sequel – the Leitz Phone 2. The new device shares its key hardware with the Sharp Aquos R7 but it offers a more robust design with textured metal sides, Leitz branding and a metal cap for the rear camera.
There’s a 6.6-inch IGZO OLED screen with 2730 x 1260 px resolution, a 240Hz refresh rate up front, and a 16MP selfie camera housed in a punch hole cutout. The back has the same 47MP main camera with a 1” sized sensor. The Sharp and Leica co-developed sensor brings a seven-element Leica Summicron lens, an F/1.9 aperture and a 19mm focal length. You also get a 1.9MP portrait sensor. The rest of the specs include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, 12GB RAM and 512GB storage and a 5,000 mAh battery.
Leica Leitz Phone 2 comes in a single Leica white color and is scheduled to go on sale in Japan from November 18, 2022. Pricing is set at JPY 225,360 which is roughly $1,540.

That's not really considered a professional use case... And I didn't say to throw out the 19 equiv. in the case of this smartphone, just to add a 50, because a 19 is too limiting, and there should be some form of upgrade.

Think about the group photos you wouldn't be able to take in a small space with a 50mm full frame equiv. I've used a 25mm f1.4 on the Lumix GF1 for hybrid shooting, its nice but tight for 16:9 videos. 35mm equiv would be more usable especia...
