Lenovo A706's specs is okay for its price. However, there're many things wrong with it, which will ruin your experience. I bought it a month ago for $140. At first I thought it was a good deal but that opinion changed for the worse later.

The phone feels quite good in my hand despite being mostly plastic as expected from a phone at this price. However back cover isn't very sturdy and if I press it a bit at the rear, I can hear a slight squeak sound.

A706's multi-tasking is okay. It can run 2 or 3 apps at the same time thanks to the quad-core MSM8225Q. However, the Adreno 203 GPU is a bit underpowered. It can't decode 720p video properly (some 720p clips from Youtube works but most doesn't and even 480p clips with higher bit rate can make it suffer). Even a Nokia Lumia 525 ($160 at my place) can do better job than that thanks to its Adreno 305. Regarding gaming performance, I can play most games on Play Store with pretty acceptable speed on A706 apart from heavy ones like Fifa 14 or Modern Combat 4.

The screen looks good with its IPS panel. The color is bright , which makes watching video a joy (A706's screen is noticeably better than Lumia 525's). 854x480 resolution is sufficient for everyday tasks. However, the touch department is what A706 fails miserably. Although Lenovo's official website says that A706 has "5-point capacitive touch" screen (like gsmarena's specs page), it only has 2 points (not just my gadget, all of my friend's also have 2 points as well). The sensitivity isn't good either. The response isn't accurate in the middle of the screen and in the bottom left of the screen. Sometimes you have to scroll the web site just to click on a link in the middle. This problem severely affects gaming enjoyment, especially with games requiring high accuracy such as Candy Crush Saga or Frozen Free Fall (oh, A706 can't play the latter without lag anyway). Typing can be a problem as pressing backspace key often resulting in "l" character instead.

The audio department is where A706 shines. The speaker sounds good and audio quality while listening music on earphones is great.

The phone features a 5-megapixel camera with so-so image quality. Image quality isn't utterly horrible but not particularly good, either.

Battery time is okay. After fully charging I can use the phone up to 2 days with light use (calling, messaging and some occasional Facebooking). If I continuosly watch video (which I do a lot as I love watching anime on this screen) or surfing the web, the battery drains quickly and I have to recharge after about 5 hours.

In conlusion, Lenovo A706 could have been a good phone for the price. It has bright, colorful screen, pretty good CPU performance, great audio quality and dual-sim support. However, the bad back cover, horrible touching capacity ruin what could have been a great product. If you want a phone to watch video or surfing the web with good price, A706 can be a decent choice. However, for heavy messaging use or playing games, you'd better look at another phones.

LENOVO should come up with free soft ware package that can integrate outlook with phone. NOKIA has PC suite and similar apps. I used MOBGENE but could not synchronise contacts with outlook.

Bought it in January. Satisfied with the battery performance. Tends to heat up if using data for prolonged time.

Ram shows up as 750mb. 1.5gb internal sd card cannot store default apps. Google apps take all the memory. Cannot uninstall neither can move to default sd card. So, decide if you really need the new app you are downloading.

                    Using since 19 jan 2014.
                    Price bought at Rs. 10,400.

I have used this phone for several months now, and I'm satisfied with it. The battery and the performance is good. There's only 1 thing that bothers me, it's the internal memory. Though it has 4 GB of internal memory, I only have about 700MB to install applications, including default applications. The built-in storage of 1.49GB can't be used to install applications.

And although I have set the default install location to my 16 GB external SD Card, this is still not enough. Those apps from google already takes up so many space (and can't be moved to SD Card). Now I often unable to add or update my apps because of insufficient storage (although I still have around 100 MB space available).

Is there any way that I can use the built-in storage to install applications?

                      Thanks

this phone is match with it's price 2 million rupiahs on Oct 2013. HSDPA, EDGE, and GPRS signal are very good and depends on your operators. WIFI and hotpsot are easily detect by asus laptop for browsing. youtube streaming are smooth but depends on your operators. responsive touch screen. texting/SMS easily done and fun too. battery strength are pretty good depends on how using it. for daily office activities such as phone, texting, dan whatsapp, battery still stand on 70-80%. ringtone are loud and clear, and still nice to hear on maximum loud.

recommended phone, made by world class company Lenovo.

                        score from 1 - 10, I'll give 8.
