Now that Asus has launched mobile wit h much better configuration, barring screen, and much lower price, Lenovo P2 needs to bring down it's selling price . On flipkart, price for 3GB is 14,990/- and for 4GB 17,999/-.

Basically, Lenovo P2 has a better display. Anyone going from Lenovo P2 to the new ASUS phone, it would be a downgrade for the diaplay. So, you have to accept it because of the newer CPU, RAM, an assumably better camera, and memory size of the new ASUS phone.

I thought that, the problem is occurring because their server is down.. I tried to unlock oem few days back.. It simply says Network unavailable.. & I think that's server issue.. Now, yesterday someone posted on XDA.. that many people are facing oem server issue.. & Lenovo is looking into it.. Now what really the matter is.. only Lenovo knows! But if your saying is right.. Then that would be a miracle..

Jaydee, 21 Apr 2018Looking for an upgrade I lost all confident in any future s... moreRedmi Note 5 Pro (India)/Redmi Note 5(China) is a nice upgrade but you will have to see if you can be happy with lesser battery life. P2 has 5000 mAh battery while Xioami ones have 4000mAh.
And even Xiaomi ones don't get much android upgrades or security updates. RN5 will remain on Oreo/P at the most and rarely any security update.
In my opinion, wait for upcoming Asus phone.

Looking for an upgrade I lost all confident in any future security patches or Oreo updates. Is the upcoming Redmi Note 5 (global) running 636 viable upgrade? I read atm for release there isn't 6GB version but instead it will be a 4GB Ram 64GB version.

Except for the old tech IPS screen.... If it's LTPS IPS panel, I'll passed... if it's IGZO panel, it'll be a bonus....
NFC and fast charge is extra whereas USB Type-C is optional...
Let's see whether ASUS listens to my requests or not...LOL...

But if it isn't, as usual price will drop like crazy and it will be affordable for people later on. This is the most true Lenovo P2 spiritual successor.
Massive battery, latest processor which is both powerful enough and power efficient, great speaker, modern design, great cameras front and back(which is an improvement over P2), 3 dedicated slots, latest stock android, better ram, better storage.
What else one would want who is in market for an upgrade from P2 ? Everything is improved.

This is "boring" and well-known marketing stunt... Expecting to be launched around USD399...

5000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 636, Pure Android Oreo(maybe even Android One), 6" screen, 18:9 aspect ratio, upto 6gb ram, upto 64gb storage, 2 sim slots, one memory card dedicated slot, Dual 16 mpx camera on back, 16mpx selfie camera with face unlock, 5 magnet speaker with dedicated NXT amplifier.
To be unveiled on 23rd April in India. Will be Flipkart exclusive.
