Rags, 20 Sep 2017Same question here. Does everyone face the touch issue afte... moreIf you are not urgent wait for next P* series i.e Lenovo P3 which should have more storage, better processor, camera, few annoying bugs fixed etc
Having said that Lenovo P2 is a decent buy if you get in sale/discount (as is usual with Flipkart etc in India region) at 20-25% discount or even slightly more with card offers/return of old phones etc
Remember esp in India Lenovo P2 was launched around Oct-2016 i believe and was launch price was 17K for 4GB RAM-32GB storage variant,,16K for 3GB-32GB variant.
So if you get around 12-12.5K or even slightly less with card offers/exchange etc go for it.
You need screen guard for sure as display replacement would make you mad as it is costly compared to whole price of device in these mid range phones.

I put it down to a bad batch, or series of batches. Bad batches which miss being stopped at the Quality Assurance level can occur at any time throughout the manufacturing. As with any manufacturing, sometimes the initial production of a model (of anything) may contain bugs or faults, which when brought to the attention of the company, (or discovered by their own Quality Assurance tests), they often endeavor to remedy the fault in later batches of production. In theory. My phone was made less than 8 months ago, and I will be watching it to see if any problems occur over time.

Xiaomi make some alright phones, and my friend has a Redmi 3s. Compared to the P2, the Xiaomi MI A1 photo quality is not very different. Goes to show that the f value isn't everything. A few Xiaomis include a 4000 mA capacity, and some Xiomis have super amoled screens, but the MI A1 has a 3080 mA battery and an LTPS IPS screen, which might be how that device is able to be priced lower. Almost none of the Xiaomis include LTE band 28, which means they will not be as popular with Australian Optus and Telstra customers (but Australia Vodaphone uses bands 1, 3 and 5, meaning good compatibility with that network provider).

LLL, 18 Sep 2017My Lenovo Vibe K4 Note developed similar issue 1-2 months a... moreLLL and Latvis, for me it was a choice between the Lenovo P2 and the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom ZE553KL(Taiwan variant). Both have similar specs (and both similar in a few ways to an iPhone 8+). I bought the P2 based on price, the front facing fingerprint button, and the reviews regarding battery life, processor speed, Super AMOLED, memory and the camera's F value of 2.0. The ZE553KL has a better camera f value and has more band compatibility, but I am very happy with the P2 camera performance. So far the biggest thing to get used to regarding this phone is the size. I come from owning the Samsung galaxy S4 mini, S5 mini (both fitted with the enlarged 6000mAh batteries), and an Xperia Z5 compact (which would usually last me 5 hours of battery life). Nowadays there are almost no small phones on the market with a good processor and memory plus a large battery capacity (or detachable battery).

Strange that we still don't have top-notch camera (best possible) from any phone maker but also at least 5000+ mAh battery in 1 device. Is OEM's really afraid to make phone so perfect that nobody will care to buy next model ? I think its silly fear. People will always buy. I would love best possible camera, but buying anything below 5000mAh (non-removable) is not for me. I came to P2 from Galaxy Note2+Zerolemon 9300mAh. So I know about long battery life :)

My Lenovo Vibe K4 Note developed similar issue 1-2 months ago.
Here's a copy of my post in K4 Note's thread

"My one year old (Aug 2016) K4 Note's touchscreen is failing...
Certain areas of the screen are no longer responsive to touch input, particularly around keyboard area.
                                      Annoying...
                                      :("
                                      14 Aug 2017

Typing has become slightly problematic, however I am still using it while looking for suitable replacement.

P.S been considering Lenovo P2 and following this thread as well, but seems I won't be getting it after all. I want a significantly better camera than both K4 Note and P2.

Mine is a new device, and I have literally dropped the phone several times without any case or protection on the road and on tiles. I am still awaiting my phone cover to arrive in the mail :( I am happy mine "seems to be ok at the moment", but after your post I wonder if there was a flaw during manufacture, and am now looking on android play for a screen diagnostic app. Might be something available to help detect faulty sensors.
