Hi, does anyone who owns the 4GB RAM, 64GB, LTE version have any problems with connectivity (wifi or LTE) and/or the issue with destroyed microSD cards? I have been reading about these problems A LOT in user reviews of other versions, but not for this particular one. Thanks for all your inputs

            2. It has a Dolby Atmos app that has a 10 band equalizer and toggles for "Volume Leveler" and "Bass Enhancer".
            5. The only scaling options I found was a font size adjustment.

I also just got the Oreo 8.1 update here in the USA on my TB-8704X. No issues.

              @Gino

              1. The tablet works fine with my chromecast.
              2. Not sure.
              3. Yes, it has a 1x1 ac radio so 433 Mbps link speed.
              4. Per Wikipedia on the snapdragon 625 the ram is Single‑channel, 32‑bit, 933 MHz, (7.5 GB/s)
              5. Not sure what you are asking here. The display specs are listed on this site. As far as font size and screen scaling it has the default Android options.

Just got the Oreo update on my tablet today here in the UK, everything working fine so far

With regards to reading a standard single page spread of a Marvel comics which tablet aspect ratio would be ideal: a 16:10 or a 4:3 like the iPad Mini 4?

I have more questions on this tablet:
                    1. Does this have full Chromecast support (and with Chromecast symbol on the drop down shortcuts)? 2. Does it have bass feature under the Dolby Audio Settings? 3. Does this support 5Ghz and ac wifi? 4. is the RAM of LPDDR3 or LPDDR4 variant? 5. What screen quality & resolution settings does it have?

I need to know...In your opinion between Huawei (with their Media Pad tablets), Lenovo (with Tab 4 lineup) and Xiaomi (Mi Pad 4) which company would you consider is doing more initiative in releasing updates (security, major Android updates, etc.) more quicker, more often and more longer?

Paromita, 10 Nov 2018Hey is there any issue with sd card? I have the 4gb ram 64gb rom model and it always says unable to find sim on booting up. But once it's booted up it's fine and can see everything on SD without problem. I think slot if people have same problem. I'm used to it now so it doesn't bother me.

I suspect that you are experiencing some kind of wifi router incompatibility causing the network disconnects. I have had consistent network connectivity with not a single dropoff.

Also the tablet has a Phone app so it is certainly able to tap out phone numbers. I cannot confirm whether VOLTE works because I don't have a SIM. But once could certainly use Line, Whatsapp, Skype, Hangouts, etc. to make calls over WiFi,

I ordered the 8704 submodel for Thailand with dual SIM (SIM 2 can be used for MicroSD card). 4Gb ROM 64Gb user RAM. (submodel ZA2F0067TH). I researched this model heavily before ordering it. I have been using Android 7" and 8" tablets ever since the first: Samsung Galaxy Tab (GT-P1000). Nexus 7, Samsung GT-P6800, Samsung Galaxy Tab S2.

My purpose for this tablet is very specific: for watching on a treadmill at home (where I can use the built in front facing stereo speakers) and at the gym (where I would use earphones). The tablet is perfect for this purpose. Here are my pros and cons:

                              PROS:
                              - excellent ROM memory to allow plenty of working memory while watching local and streaming video

                              - a good amount of user memory for me to store video files while flying (including downloadable Netflix videos)

                              - option of using tablet as a real phone (not just for data download)

                              - loud audio levels with clarity while on the treadmill (but certainly not for vivid music listening)

                              - very bright screen with excellent off-axis viewing

                              - reasonably lightweight

                              - easy to grasp in one hand (reminiscent of Nexus 7)

                              - an excellent replacement for your aging or failed Nexus 7

                              - fast and accurate fingerprint reader integrated into the power button

                              - performance of tablet is the snappiest of all of the tablets I listed above. See YouTube for information about game performance because I am not a gamer.

                              CONS:

                              - The resolution is merely adequate for web and email but less desirable for things like reading e-books and newspapers.

                              - Lenovo is highly unlikely to ever issue major version updates for the Android operating system.

                              - XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM forums show no serious work for rooting this tablet and manually upgrading the operating system. So you should expect that the Android version as shipped is what you will use for the lifetime of the device.

                              TIP:
Looking at the version being offered in the US, the Thai and Asian versions seem to be equipped with more ROM and RAM than the US models. Read the specs carefully before ordering! Try to find a reputable online vendor if you're going to order from outside your home country!

                              BOTTOM LINE:
Would I do it again? YES. This is not theoretical. I think I am going to order a second one to keep in the US for my gym use. It looks like this model is getting more difficult to obtain. That's not surprising because it was issued over a year ago. I don't see anything that comes close specs-wise. I thought of the Costco price for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A. But this is FAR BETTER EQUIPPED in just about every way. Compare the specs here and you will probably agree.

                              Good luck, fellow nerds.

The tablet does not have a compass. It is a pity about the magnetic compass. Also don't have clipboard memories on build up keayboard need to insstal 3rdparty clipboard apps instead. Well get used to using these devices as more than just a phone and its a real deal breaker when a new gadget has less hardware in it or the hardware doesnt work properly.

I got carried away by seeing the specs that this is a calling tab. I was under the impression that this will support VoLTE. But it will not. There is no dial pad to make it a calling tab. Further the device is going out of network every few minutes needing us to reset network, most disgusting. We fail to understand why Lenovo made this so when world over is migrating to VoLTE. In India all major ISPs are already on VoLTE releasing this is meaningless and fraud. More do this tab is not optimized at all and we can not be sure of any future company support. Overall I don't advise anyone to buy this tab.

I have the Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus (TB-8704X) and it does indeed support Qualcomm Quick Charge fast charging. With a regular charger I measured it at 10 watts (5Vx2A). With a QC2.0 charger I was able to get 15 watts (9Vx1.67A).

I'll answer a few other questions from previous posts:
My tablet does have working GPS.

I can confirm that the US version does only have 16gb storage and 2 gb RAM. I returned that model because it suffered from lag. The 4 GB ram model does not have the lag.

I am able to access the play store and install google apps with this model in the US. The default language was something other than English. I was able to change it during initial setup.
