LG announces the Q8 (2018) with 6.2” screen and stylus
Back in May LG unveiled a trio of Q7 smartphones as a more affordable alternative of the G7 ThinQ. Today the company announced with a press release the unveiling of LG Q8 (2018) as the cheaper solution of the V35 ThinQ. The new Q8 (not to be confused with last year’s Q8) has a huge 6.2” FullVision display and comes bundled with a built-in stylus.
The chipset of the Q8 (2018) is the 14 nm Snapdragon 450 that arrives with octa-core CPU at 1.8 GHz. Memory is 4/64 GB, but there is microSD for up to 2 TB storage (realistically it can't go higher than 512 GB).
LG keeps including a tremendous wide-angle lens in its flagship devices, but sadly, this phone has a single regular sensor on the back - 16 MP with PDAF, coupled with an LED flash. At least the 5 MP selfie camera comes with a Super Wide Angle of 100 degrees so you can include all your friends in the selfies.
Connectivity includes USB-C, Bluetooth, and all the modern Wi-Fi 802.11 standards. There is 3.5 mm audio jack on board if you want to listen to FM Radio, while LG has equipped the Q8 (2018) with DTS:X 3D Surround Sound and Hi-Fi Quad DAC for all the audiophiles out there. The phone is also IP68 and MIL-STD 810G compliant.
The LG Q8 (2018) is 160.1 x 77.7 x 8.4 mm in size and has a QC 3.0-compatible battery with 3,300 mAh capacity. LG Director of the mobile division Ahn Byung-deok said the phone “will become a new choice for domestic mid-sized smartphones”. We have to wait and see how the phone, offered in Aurora Black and Moroccan Blue, will perform on the market with its price tag of KRW539,000 which is around $480 or €415.

Looks good. Keen for a review for the audio and software experience, as well as the stylus. I can't stand Chinese phone software! The Koreans do it better.
