if you want a phone this phone is great
sms is amazing. mms is pretty good. calling perfect and fool off class
but as an smart phone is a little slow but with update it will be faster.
file manager is good. browser zoom is not good like iphone. battery life not bad. as an java phone his phone is in rnk 2 after jet but its more beutiful

It can use java as any sony ericsson non smartphone (like w910)! Anyway, one of the most interesting designs out there, but maybe best for people that can really appreciate it, I had lots of mobiles and I still prefer LG, everybody complains about LG software bugs but actually every phone has minor bugs, and if the worst thing is random slowdowns, I can live with that, but for me Lg software is exactly what I like, nice to use and complete, not like my old beat dj, even if it had a impressive sound quality the rest was mostly incomplete and useless...

LG simply sucks big time! Really had my regrets and is still regretting about switching my SE w910 to this rubbish. Yes, that's right I call it rubbish. LG doesn't make good phones and this is just one of the many rubbish phones they've sold in the market. I can't even seem to find and download decent applications to this phone. As soon as i get enough cash, I'll go back to SE and will get Elm or Hazel. Sony Ericsson lives!

i live in the US and got this phone (a Berlin import) from ebay for about $300. i don't care for the data plan and use it for just voice and text with t-mobile.
the following are my impressions of the phone after using it for about a month. also the phone is being compared to my previous phone, iphone 2g.
pros
- the design and looks of this phone is marvelous and the weight feels just right
- movies on this phone's ratio is stunning especially with the hd screen
- music sounds very clear and clean (even on max vol) from the ear speaker (phone's only speaker), i can't really tell what the dolby mobile does in the earphones but sounds great
- typing on this phone is actually pretty good, the touch response is pretty solid, the word suggestions are neat
- haven't used the camera much but it seems alright
- gesture unlocks are convenient
- the iphone headset w/mic works fine with this phone
cons
- this phone has slight/noticeable lag (does not look smooth/clean) --> when switching to the next homescreen, kinetic scrolling, dragging widgets
- the battery life is horrendous, it only lasts about a day after a full charge on normal usage (moderate phone use, less than a few hours of music)
- does not play some video files (mostly HD ones)
- screen has a minor glitch? when going through some sub-menus, i can see a slight/barely noticeable/quick jump in color (hard to explain)
- random popups of something like 'too much applications open' when you try to open up another app
- to my understanding and experience so far, the contact photo should be a square in size and not the vertical rectangle as the native screen size. so when receiving and sending a call, the photo is maximized to its width (so in reality, since the photo is a square, it takes up maybe 1/3 of the whole screen), but once the call is connected, the contact photo shrinks drastically. this is a con for me.
i have used shine in the past but this 4th installment is definitely what lg black label series is about.
this phone came with pre-installed film/protector on the screen and the battery cover (even underneath the instruction sticker on the back). this phone feels very vulnerable and getting some sort of case is advised.
but if you don't want to put on some sort of case on the phone and show off the phone for what it is, ordering some backup battery covers are recommended. also, switching to anti-glare/fingerprint screen protector is highly recommend (steinheil). this protector will definitely keep the screen clean, smooth, and scratch-free.
i can't appreciate the original design and incredible feel of the phone and show the true awesomeness of the phone much since i am using some cheap but durable silicone case i got on it to preserve the phone.
bottom line is, if you are not really a phone geek but into fashion (concerned more about the design/looks) its definitely a must get.

TEXTING HELP, 08 May 2010how would you compare texting on the qwerty touchscreen key... moreIts not necessarily the fastest, and it is hard to get used to at first. But once you have it down, speed is pretty good and easy to achieve. It's different, but I like it. :)

This phone has handwriting recognition too. It has three options to write whenever u want to type. It's really cool. I love this phone.
