It seems you are lucky enough that you didn't have any issues so far. Even I tried my Nokia headset with Fathom. As soon as I inserted the headset in the jack, the Auto Voice Dial program started and then the last dialed number too redialed itself and disconnected itself hundred times until I remove the jack of Nokia Headset from LG Fathom.
Anyways, I already purchased LG compatible headsets from LG Service Centre and don't have any issues now.
Friends, try posting / sharing as much as you can about LG Fathom.
One more thing I want to share for those who got upset due to slow resistive touch of LG Fathom. Install SPB Shell v3.5.5.10106 on Fathom and your mobile will work like charm as good as compared to any Capacitive Touch Screen Mobile phone. :)
I'm sure you will not regret installing SPB Shell on your mobile. It is as customizable as Android Phones and you will feel the difference yourself.
Try googling about the version I mentioned above. :)

Ryan, 17 Feb 2012No bro I received a 5 volt 700MA(.7A) charger with detac... morei have two lg fathom mobile both supplied with same charger.. with 4 different detachable plug for different regions of world.. like asia(2 pin plug), U.S, U.K..... try using spice usb charger.. i used it once, it worked fine.. or any micro usb charger.. u can use data cable seperately.

manoj, 17 Feb 2012how can update software of fathom Buddy, your problem will not get solved by upgrading the software. It is a hardware issue you have to go through the steps as I mentioned below to solve the sound issue on your mobile.

I received a 5 volt 700MA(.7A) charger with detachable usb cable with this phone. Every time i connect it with phone it tells the cabe is not recommended though it charges the phone very well.

manoj, 16 Feb 2012hello friends help me.i live in bhilai,chhattisgarh. my fat... moreIt seems you put some non-standard headset in your LG Fathom. This is a common issue with most of the LG Fathom. Many people worldwide suffered from this issue after inserting not-compatible headsets.
Start your Media Player and play a song. Obviously you won't hear any sound. Now take a small pin (like allpin etc) and insert in the headphone jack of your mobile. Try moving / touching on inner metal panels multiple times. If you are lucky enough, then your problem will definitely get solved. I too faced the same problem and resolved it like this only.
Actually when you connect the headset to your mobile phone jack, your mobile works in headset mode. As soon as you remove the headset, the mode should automatically reversed to PHONE MODE form Headset mode, which in your case did not worked. The inner pins of the jack get released as soon as you remove the headset pin. But in your and many other users case this does not happen due to inserting a non-compatible headset.
There are 99% chances that your problem will get solved with pin method as I described above. If it won't then you will be left with no other option to replace the headphone jack of your mobile.
Also I recommend all LG Fathom users to use only LG compatible headsets with your mobile. I purchased one wired headset which LG bundles with Optimus model. It is fully compatible with Fathom. Other options is to use Bluetooth headsets.

Performing a soft reset
Perform a soft (normal) reset to clear all active program memory and shut down all active programs. This
is useful when your phone is running slower than normal, or a program is not performing properly.
If a soft reset is performed when programs are running, unsaved work is lost.
Reset Button
There is an RST button beside my Accessory/ Charger port, what does it do?
This button restarts your phone (similar to how you may restart your PC/computer). Please note
that unsaved items and data will be lost.
To perform a LG Fathom soft reset
1. Pull out the stylus which is attached on the back side of the device.
2. Remove the Accessory/Charger Port Cover.
3. Use the stylus tip to press the RESET button located to the left of the charger port.
4. Replace the back cover and insert the stylus back into its compartment.

from the Clear Type drop-down menu. Then, tap Clear.

What is the difference between the Factory Default and Custom Configuration options?
1. Factory Default :
This will erase all data and reset the device to factory defaults.
2. Custom Configuration :
This will erase all data and install the enterprise’s custom configuration.
If a Hard Reset does not solve your issues, you may need to perform a software upgrade.

START->SETTING->PERSONAL->PHONE->NETWORK
then select "mode of operation " as GSM/UMTS
and "gsm network selection" as automatic
then ok
and after that u would be able to use any gsm sim
on thid phone
