LG VS750 Fathom
I have always been using Windows Mobile right from its earlier primitive version to the last 6.5 till Microsoft decided to kill this OS. As usual I bought a new Samsung Focus working on the new WM 7.0 Operative System. Wow, the OS is really nice, it hardly crashes, the screen is very responsive (for this phone) & there is hardly any lag. But then, I like to tweak programs on my own and this OS does not allow anything on that. You have to do everything through Zune & thus it was of no use to me and I had to give it away.
Thus, I bought a new LG Fathom VS750, which was available very cheap on Ebay, only condition was that it is Locked on Verizon network. This is a CDMA+GSM+3G phone with AGPS & 1.0GHZ processor & sliding Keyboard. I just bought it, though a few Unlockers were not able to help me with the unlock code on it. But, anyway I took the risk and bought it and was able to unlock it through Mr.Naresh Khatri (nareshkhatri0007@gmail.com) who was able to assist me with the unlock code within a few minutes. He charges about $15, which I paid through Ebay. Finally I paid much less than the Unlock phones available on Ebay.
About LG VS750 Fathom:
The phone is quite good, though nothing to crave about its beauty. What I am satisfied that it is very fast than my previous WM6.5 phone (though it is using the same operating system) because of the 1Ghz processor. All my previous applications which were very important to me are working perfect.
Since I have done so much research and hours on this telephone I thought of penning down my experiences for others.
Unlocking it: I have already covered. You will have to go to menu-personal and put the unlock code in the Sim unlock. It has to be a 8 digit code.
Keyboard : Sliding Perfect, though I would like to have some extra keys without the Fn button.
Screen & its Response : Okay, as it is resistive. It is quite dull in the sun.
Speed: Quite Fast as it has a 1GHz processor.
GPS : Since this is a Verizon phone everything is locked to Verizon and its software including the GPS port. . For the GPS to work you will have to go to menu-personal-cdma settings and make the GPS on ‘Location only’. It is originally set on ‘911’. Once you do that you can revert back to GSM/UTMS network. You will have to link one of the serial ports with the physical GPS port and you will need a Virtual Serial Port for that. You can find this software at http://franson.com/virtual-serial-port/ (GPS Gate). You can use it free for 15 days and then you will have to pay to buy it. However, I can confirm that all GPS applications work perfectly well by changing the settings in CDMA + the GATE Software. Though this is supposed to be AGPS, the GPS takes some time for the Fix; I am not sure if this is a OS problem or because of the GATE.
GPRS : I am using this phone on Vodafone (GSM) in Maharashtra (India) and the settings downloaded automatically and my internet applications are working perfectly well.
Phone: I don’t have any complains about the voice quality and it is perfectly well. The supplied phone applet by LG / Verizon is really good.
General : I am quite happy with the default starting screen as it gives me everything on a Touch.
Camera : It is a 3.2 mega pixel camera without flash and I can say it is just average.
Music & Speaker : Nothing to rave about, just okay.
Radio : Not available
Memory Card: One can use micro SD up 16GB. I am using a Transcend, Class 4, 16GB & it is working fine.
3G : I don’t have a 3G sim card yet and I have not tested it on 3G, though the phone is 3G capable.
Gesture Controls: I really liked this control and one can go directly to any application with a finger gesture on the screen.
Updates from LG : One can update to V7 through the LG website.

i'm only able to install apps from marketplace .

hello guys,
i want to use this phone as a modem to my laptop using gsm sim.
in my phone only when connect to modem and internet start in reliance gsm but when using docomo,airtel,vodafone then it give 619 error.
in my all sim data plan activate
