rrig_UK, 14 Jan 2014@SpecialEdition I forgot to mention that Li-Ion battery ... moreI believe all original battery chargers have circuit cut built in, even if they all are made in china like the non original ones come from and made by the same vendors. I could buy a non original charger for $2 and get a risk it might explode my battery if I leave my phone over charged. But with a $15 -20 original charger you should be no worry about it.

The battery itself needs a special care, I agree. Whenever I feel the phone is getting too hot to hold, I always check the battery temperature (dial *#*#4636#*#* to enter info menu). If it is more than 60 C degree, I will immediately stop my activity. (But never with this phone exceed 45 C with my room temperature about 30-32)

The main difference between Li-on and Li-po battery I think on their material to pack the batery cell only, where the one is more flexible than the other (I forgot which one is more flexible, I guess the Li-po one). Both are Lithium based battery, hence they have the same behavior in usage (battery life, battery life span etc).

Almost everything I concerned from this phone are good, my mine complaint perhaps the material of the back cover, but I got the flip cover for free, so not bothered with that any more. Recommend, yes. (I was torn between Z1 and Note 3 when I saw G2 is usd 170 cheaper than both – according to our currency here – and it is including a flip cover and a pair of LG HBS-730 bluetooth headset costs $60s as bonuses)

              @SpecialEdition

I forgot to mention that Li-Ion battery (that is currently used in mobile phone including new devices today) more resistant to overcharge than Li-Po (Li-Polymer) batteries.

I really like this phone, I want to upgrade to it. My 24 month contract has finished.

Do you think I should go with phone, I need some advice.

              Thanks.

AnonD-3744, 14 Jan 2014I have no idea how much space has been occupied by LG pre-l... moreHi,

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I mentioned about overcharging the battery. The reason why I asked you those question is because the LG G2 has Li Polymer Battery.

I was doing reasearch and found that if its overcharged, damaged or miss used then it will explode causing fire. The battery needs special care.

That really put me off as I really like this phone becuase of the long lasting battery life.

You mentioned about the LG G2 charger, does it have a circuit built in to prevent the above from happening?

Have had my G2 for two weeks and I'm in two minds. Sometimes it's a great phone. Sometimes it's infuriating. First of all, why bother with the 16g at all? After a little music and my apps I have a measly 3g left. A ROM runs at around 2g. It's a killer and for me. The camera is another horrendous experience. Getting a good photo is like pulling teeth. Granted, I do get some excellent shots... Finally... When the fun is long gone... But even then, I head over to my PC and I'm horrified! And I know I'm not the only one. Lg OVER processes the shots taken so that when you view them on PC you're in for a shock. Blue/Green tinting pre-dominates and so does grain. I know what I'm taking about - my boyfriend has the S4 and he's now the default photo taker whenever we go out because we just can't rely on the G2. Finally performance. OK, the G2 shines here. The screen is supreme in reproduction and silky in use. The glass is sensuous and I can sit the whole day, running my fingers over it. The buttons on the back are such a good idea, I find myself expecting them on every phone I use. It doesn't look sexy but it's a very tactile phone... I go to sleep with it! It's speedy between apps and never feels overloaded.... EXCEPT when I'm browsing the internet. It stutters and coughs while scrolling on ALL browsers, something that's also present on theS4 but not at all on the HTC one. And the body - made in Korea - creaks like Grannies rocking chair at the slightest amount of pressure. You don't need to silence the vibrate in meetings, you need to go outside. So there you have it. I think the software department must just go back and do a major update on optimizing their top-of-the-range hardware. The experience of using the G2 is disjointed and irregular and seeps through after a month or so. I still prefer the G2 over the S4 - it is far less pedestrian, but I find myself left behind when people are taking photos and enjoying. It's a big thing. And yeah. Stop making phones with less than 32g space if you're not going to offer an SD card. It's 2014.

Have the LG G2 for 3 months.
                      PRO's
                      - loooong lasting battery 3days (gmail, googledrive, hangouts, youtube,...)
                      - super screen but has to be set at least 65% brightness
                      - compact (felt down 2 times no scrtach)
                      - LG's software can be 90% turned off, so no bloatware
                      - verry fast, good wifi cellular signal
                      - WIRELLESS STORAGE IS top (connect to your pc via explorer-> phone IP-over, no software or anything required, Samsung is here FLOP
                      - LG UI is clean and usefull had before HTC sense

                      CON's
                      - needed x1 factory restore (simple task), couldn't get the play store working - no harm all data is in google drive

Daughter has S4, no chance against LG G2
                      better battery
                      better colours
less bloatware (Samsung relly pushes it here)
better infrared remote control UI by miles

rrig__UK, 13 Jan 2014@SpecialEdition Sorry for my sentence. That much space. ... moreI have no idea how much space has been occupied by LG pre-loaded apps since they are stored in the system memory (there are several preinstalled apps are stored in the internal storage though such as polaris office, video guide, file manager etc that can be uninstalled since they are not essential to the phone performance). You need a root access to see what inside the system memory. All I can know from the storage info/properties is 32 GB of total space has been partitioned by factory for internal storage space (24.80 GB) and the remain space (around 4.60 GB or 5,300 MB) for system memory. It may be there is a lot of free space in system memory which is reserved for future updates.

Why over charge the battery? Is there really any purposes of doing it? I knew there are a lot suggestions to do over charge for 8-12 hours (and do this few cycles in first few days) if you had a brand new phone, but in my opinion this applies to ni-cd battery not to lithium based battery. If you use original charging, it will stop charging when the battery is fully charged. The original charging is usually equiped with a circuit to prevent over charge. So, no over charging to me, but I dont mind to use my phone while it’s on charging.
