My solution (probably not the bes... morewell in fact my device updates after making a call or doind something that uses carrier network .. i dont know if this happens too with other lg variants but d800 from att has this when using a diffrenet network ,,,but rest of features workes pretty good,even battery with lolipop yesterday charged my phone to 100 percent left it on in sleep mode and wake up today and it was 100 percent still amazing battery.

Lg G2 is Very good phone in all with a drawback of having only single sim card.
The only problem is weak signal reception. Where ever low cost mobile catch signal, lg g2 shows no network.
I even port my sim from BSNL to IDEA, but the result remained unchanged.
Will company tell something about it

No data will be lost, although some apps are likely not ideally compatible with Lollipop framework and can cause problems- that's why most people factory reset their phones after the upgrade.

Just bought g2 and updated it to lollipop still good no problem at all. Battery life excellent.
