This happened to me. May be there is OS issue that not installed originally as many people installed for hiding 3rd party logo like (T-Mobile or At&T etc).
You have to download Stock firmware of your exact G3 Model. then you will get updates.... Good luck

I give my g3 to my little sis and i get lg g flex 2 its faster then my previous g3 and no lag no hang no heating on gaming in android 5.1.1 , very stable.

At least in my country I had to replace my old one with USIM card that enables you to connect to LTE/4G network and you also need to have it enabled by your network provider. :)
