Just pick up your phone and move... moreThx but no, it never woke up until plugging in (or just forget it and tap it hours later), and number of ppl suffer from this as I saw on google result. As it turn out, it actually was prox. sensor issue and I solved it by tweaking the hidden menu and re-calibrating the sensor, as I wrote below.
Big relief now I can get along :-)

Bad PR? Very
Is the s7 edge or most Samsung models over $300 released this year better than pretty much anything else on the market? Yes.
As someone who went from an LG G3 (which i really liked) to an S7 Edge, I can tell you that Samsung just made the best smartphone on the market x

Guys does anyone have proximity-sensor issue with G3 Marshmallow?
My G3 occasionally kept asleep soundly and didn't wake up when I hit the power button or double tap the screen.
When I plug in the power cable or try tapping later, it woke up.
I scoured around for the info and at last found the solution!!
It relates to proximity sensor calibration and you can fix it from hidden menu.

This guy has Verizon' G4, but it works for G3 global as well.
The only difference between G3 and this guy's G4 is the code to enter the hidden menu.
Hit the phone dial to enter the hidden menu.
*#546368#*855# -in case of d855 Marshmallow (it was 3845#*855# in Lollipop)
Then the URL above steps you through the procedure.

Examples
Bootloops
Wifi or fm radio or Bluetooth not connecting or trying to connect with series heating of the phone
Frequent crashes without use
High battery drain without use
For those with g3's still in good condition PLEASE don't play games this causes excessive heating eventually resulting in bootloops

Hi, i hope you have not yet bought the g3. I will highly recommend you buy the note 4. The g3 is an excellent phone when it works leaving aside the average battery life. But the biggest issue is the bootloop issue which unfortunately affects the g3 g4 v10 g5.
Just search for g3 bootloop problem and find out for yourself the scale of the issue.
I had to find out the hard way my g3 started bootloop recently.
The problem is related to the frequent heating of the phone. This results in the chips on the motherboard loosing contact from the frequent heating.
I have been able to reinforce the chips on the motherboard with papers and my phone is working again, but bootloops can start again anytime.
So i hope my experience will dether you from this phone unless you are technically good to disassemble your phone and troubleshoot the problem.
So make the right choice and go for the note series because i will be switching to the note series and dump lg for good.

My lg3 is the worst phone iv ever owned the battery goes flat literally in 5 or 6 hours , it constantly freezes or just switched itself of for no reason, the buttons can lag for 3 seconds & sometimes don't work at all & it sometimes won't drag the screen at all & be for people say I have a faulty phone I know 3other people who say the same so do yourself a favour and don't buy one a total waste of money.

You cannot buy LG original batteries online or at good third party mobile store like Poorvikaa in South India. You can get Samsung original parts at most of the shops.
