The kind of performance g3 gives is comparable to any other phone in the market even today. Dont go by benchmark scores dear, G3 may hav benchmark score less than z3 (that also by not much), but g3 can perform any task thrown at it with ease and comparable to any phone. By any task i mean, any game, any video or any app. So for normal people (i dont think u can be counted here, u can be counted in hardcore mobile gamer or anything), g3 does its task with no lag whatsoever.
For general day-to-day task (watsapp, facebook, even 3d game, or any other app), g3 is just awesome to use. So dont compare g3 to z3 on the basis of performance.
Now comes the basic criteria. LOOKS.
Z3 is good, no doubt, but its design is too common with thick bezels, large upper and lower area of the screen, even button positioning. Its just too common and uninspiring.
Look at g3. U can see only screen in the front - thin bezels, small lower upper area of the screen and the button positioning is something new and innovative. G3 has a larger display as well.
Camera - Laser autofocus of g3 is just awesome (Innovation every where). G3 Camera is better than z3.
Sound - loud and clear in g3. Better than z3 again. Dolby sound in G3.
I would still say, its a no brainer between g3 and z3. G3 all the way. Hope its clear now.

In terms of color and contrast,vivdness,viewing angels g3 display is truly weak, and yes in this regard its like a 480p against z3 display,(remember i used 480p and 4k just as measuring tool), and nobody scrifice better performance,much better screen,much better battery,no heating problem just for screen to body ratio or volume key placement,can your ratio to body design increase performance or increase the battery life???
I suggest you compare g3 to z3 or any other smartphone then you will notice what i say, i have g3 for a year and i regreted every minute of it

Nyways, if u think g3 is 480p in comparison to z3, then u better get ur eyes checked.
G3 has innovative looks, screen to body ratio is also the best, u get bigger screen than z3 in the same size, thinnest bezels, convenient rear buttons.... Its a no brainer to buy g3 over z3. Period.

G3 is much better than z3. z3 is huge in size ... moreNo its not better,dont tell lies boy,yes g3 has 1440p display is sharper than 1080p,but its not that much visible,since 1080p is sharp enough, but colors, contrast and viewing angles are better on z3 by far,, today i compard them again,and z3 destroyed my g3, completly destroyed it,the screens arent comparable at all, if we say colors and contrast of z3 are (just as a comparing tool) 4k then g3 is 480p

With the Nexus 5x I could have... moreIts impossible for z3 to remain on marshmallow, sony will update it, but yes nexus 5x will receive more updates,and about the camera z3 is excellent,but i think better screen, sd card,better battery are more important than a little better camera, since you watch movies a lot and use your phone for multimedia so screen and battery have priority

With the Z3 android 6.0 will likely be the last update for it. I mainly use a phone for social media apps, watching videos, music and light gaming
