LG G3 Cat. 6 (aka G3 Prime) appears in Korean online mall

11 July, 2014

The LG Best Mall jumped the gun on the LG G3 Prime announcement, or rather LG G3 Cat. 6 as the promo image refers to it. The device received its Bluetooth certification less than two weeks ago and will sport the latest Snapdragon chipset.

The Cat. 6 LTE is a dead giveaway – the Snapdragon 805 is the only Qualcomm chipset that supports the new standard and the current LG G3 is based on Snapdragon 801, which tops out at Cat. 4 LTE. The device has been in the rumor mill since mid-June but this is the first image we've seen of it. It comes as an answer to the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

The LG G3 Cat. 6 looks identical to its S801 twin, the promo image emphasizes the new connectivity speed and nothing else. Still, this means it will have a 5.5" QHD screen, 13MP camera with OIS and razor-thin bezels.

Right now LG Best Mall is accepting registrations for the updated flagship, there's no listed price or launch date.

Keep in mind there are two more LG G3 versions in the rumor mill - the LG G3 Beat, a smaller version of the G3, and the LG G3 mini, an even smaller version.
