I have LG G3 i am having overheating problem ..after 5-10 minute of internet use or playing game my phone become so hot.i am confused about LG G4 .but i will bye G4 if it also give same problem i will never ever try to buy LG product

in real life those numbers are not a major difference.
there are most important noticeable like cameras, display, batterylife, UX, and other good specs and features on the phone.

9.8mm is just the thickest part just on the middle part
and you will not feel that since most part of the phone is measured lessthan 9.8mm and the thinnest part is at 6mm.
you should know that its starting from 6.4mm to 9.8mm
this is not a flat phone so there is a difference between 9.8mm flat phone to 6.4mm-9.8mm curved phone.
