Both SIMs are active. If you have a call on SIM 1, SIM 2 can't receive a call unless you activate "smart forward" calling feature which allows you to forward calls from SIM 2 to SIM 1 {vice versa) so you will not miss a call. Basically, it's a "call forwarding" feature.

LG G4 Dual gets heated. And when on call, it gets too hot. Hope we get a fix from LG soon. Also battery life is not very good considering its 3000 mah battery. Guess that's why LG is providing an extra battery for free. But not possible to every time open back cover and keep replacing battery.

Example, SIM card A and SIM card B, both SIM are LTE capable. A in SIM slot 1, B in SIM slot 2. If i'm going to use SIM A for data, I will choose SIM A to access data in the settigns menu and set it to "2G/3G/4G Auto" or "3G only" network mode for a faster connection. Then SIM B will automatically in "2G only" mode. Now, if my SIM A reached my allocated bandwidth, but my SIM B has plenty of data remains, or SIM A doesn't have a good LTE signals or has a data network problem, I will just set SIM B to access data in the settings menu, and change network modes like "3G only" or "2G/3G/4G Auto" mode for faster signal connections, automatically SIM slot 1 will turn to "2G only" mode, and I'm done. Ready to surf anyway I want. So the convenience of just switching it in the menu to access either SIMS is great. Unlike other phones that has a dedicated SIM slots for each network modes. And opening of the back case is you know, not that convenient just to switch the SIM cards, it may also cause trouble and not so fast to do. So it's a great idea.

So is it Dual-LTE? Yes, but it is not Dual-Active-LTE.

i'll give you an example. there's only "2" setups to set for both SIM slots. (setup 1) either one SIM slot is ALWAYS for "2G only" network mode (setup 2) and the other sim slot is either for "2G only", "3G only", "2G/3G Auto", "2G/3G/4G Auto" network mode. example scenario 1: sim 1 is "2G/3G/4G Auto" mode, automatically sim 2 is "2G only" mode. you can't force to use other than "2G only" on the sim slot 2. example scenario 2: SIM 1 is "3G only" mode, automatically SIM 2 is "2G only" mode. again no other choices other than "2G only" mode. example scenario 3: SIM 1 is "2G only" mode, then in SIM 2 you can set either "2G only", "2G/3G Auto", "3G only", "2G/3G/4G Auto" modes. but can you use both the data service of both sim simultaneously? no. there's a setting in the menu to pick which one sim slot you will turn on the data. so in example scenario 1, you can choose the SIM 1 for data because it can pick 4G signals for fast connection. but you can choose SIM 2 to turn on data but it is so slow, because its only a "2G only" mode connection.

i will try my best to explain the best that i can about dual sim capabilities of this phone.

                                "LG G4 DUAL-LTE"

as the name itself, yes it is a dual sim phone, capable of using a 2 sim cards.

now, is it dual standby? yes.
                                is it dual active? yes.

but, is it both active LTE? no.

but it can both GSM only active. it cant also both 3G active.

one sim must SET only GSM, and the other sim must SET 2g/3g/4G function. it cant use both LTE/3G Only simultaneously.

but, why is the name DUAL-LTE?
because, both sim slot at the back of the phone, capable of accepting of up to LTE network band.

other phones has also the function of dual sim, but in the back of the phone, there is a DEDICATED SIM slot, for use for 2G/3G/4G and other sim slot for 2G only (usually the SIM 2 slot)

now, how do i set the other sim slot to 2G/3G/4G and the other one to 2G only, well it's in the settings menu. there's also a setting in the menu of what sim slot you will use for data connection.

so whats the point of this DUAL-LTE of LG G4 to other Dual SIM that has a dedicated slot for 2G only and 2G/3G/4G bands? or any difference? the answer, CONVENIENCE and also RELIABILITY. because, you dont have to open your back case just to switch between your sim cards if your both cards has LTE function. you just set the settings and you're done. and while you are working on the hardware, it will not caused you trouble once you are taking off the sim to the slots. as the sim slots are fragile because of the contacts.

so is it good? for me, yes, ofcourse. well worth the function, its an upgrade for the ones has a dedicated sim slot for both bands.

so, there you have it. i hope i explained it well.
I'm Riba Sanchez from the Philippines, proud of my LG G4. have a Gre4T day!
