Sanity, 13 Dec 2020My lg g6 has begun freezing and it does it any time notwith... moreUsually its a weak battery. It means the battery does not have enough power to provide everything. Time to change it.

My lg g6 has begun freezing and it does it any time notwithstanding what ever I'm doing at the time and I've factory reset it for more than 5 times but it still freezes and I have to force it with the power button and volume down key before it restarts. Sometimes it doesn't even finish booting before freezing. I need help.

This phone has started giving me headache because it freezes any time notwithstanding what I'm doing and i have to force it for it to restart. I have fsctory reset it but it still continues when i don't even have any third party app on it. Any solution to that?

Does this phone have 'bootloop' issuses like other LG phones?
                        Or any other issue?
Can the bootloader be unlocked & Custom ROMs be flashed?
I like to heavily modify the stock recovery, kernel, rom, etc.
Please let me know soon as I'm considering buying it.

i bougth this phone recently (its cheap so why not, around US$70) and been using it for 3 months. came with android 7, but managed to install android 9 after some research on google. this was LG's flagship back in 2017, it ticks all the boxes. great design, above average camera (even better with gcam), great screen, great loudspeaker, 4gb ram is still relevant, QuadDAC, good LG software, and it really feels so good in the hand, very solid build! But with the use of Snapdragon 821, the phone just feels a bit laggy, or i think it is because of LG's heavy UI. Dont get me wrong, the functionality of LG's UI is great, it just they could have optimize it to run smoothly. even Sony's UI with SD820 (Xperia XZ) aint that laggy. furthermore, the battery just couldnt hold up anymore, when at outside, i could only get around 3-3.5hrs SoT. and when indoor it only lasts with 4-4.5hrs SoT. But overall i am satisfied with this device even in 2020. G6 still have that flagship feels when using it.

I've had this phone since a few months after it came out, June I believe, which means I've has it 2 1/2 years, so this is what I have to say about it ultimately:
the internal storage sucks, and moving things to external storage is rather difficult.
it runs smoothly though and looks nice, it also has a good volume which is nice if you're listening to music. Its a great size if you're a smaller person, not awkward in your hand but still big enough to see everything easily and it has a really nice appearance without a case. That being said, I dont suggest you have this phone out of its case too long: the few times I did I almost always dropped it because the phone is smooth and a bit slippery and both of the two times that happened it cracked. The cracks arent major, but i've been careful with it. Paint or something has come off on the phones corners and around the charging port which leads to my biggest problem with this phone:
Once it hit the two year mark, the charging port straight up stopped working, and i'm not the only G6 owner to run into this. I now charge it using a charger that rests against the phone's back, however this method can take anywhere from 6-10hrs depending on how moody my phone is feeling. These past few days it has been dying from 100% to 15% in a matter of a few hours and when I charge it'll continue to die until it hits about 3% and gets stuck there for an hour or so before charging once more.

because of this issue I cant recommend this phone. If you're someone who gets a new one each year, sure get this phone, you wont hate it, but if you plan on having your phone for a while look elsewhere

I managed to install Android 9 to my LG G6 and it runs great, better than with Android 8 and the battery seems to hold longer. Great phone even in these days. I love the rugged and still very sleek design. Not sure why aren't these rugged LG's much more popular. People around me buy Huawei's and Xioami's like crazy, but these phones are very easy to break, the're construction is cheap and plastic like. I've been always a big fan of rugged phones, Kyocera DuraForce or Samsung Xcover, but they lack the sleek modern design. I hope LG will make these nice rugged phones in the future, because there seems like no other brand is doing it.
