It's an ecosystem that can be connected to other ThinQ appliances for better usability. At present 7.9mm is obviously thin & that doesn't mean I should compare it with my years old OPPO R7 which is 6.3mm.

I just got one, bought it used on ebay, good condition with a few scratches on the back about $150.
Initial impression: the thinQ is not that thin, it's about the same as most other smartphones. I have a Blu Vivo XI+ that is actually thinner. So that is a little bit of false advertising IMHO, I thought it was gonna be super thin but it's just normal thickness.
But you do get allot of value with this device.....will test it and get back later with results. I don't like the notch of course but not a big deal.

Hanif Fikri, 09 Sep 2020Can it run PUBG at 60fps(at whatever Graphic settings) with... moreFirst things first you won't get banned by using PUB Gfx tool until your GPU optimization is default.
Next thing about 60fps..... You should know that 60fps option from game itself isn't available when your graphic are set to high. It may be HD or HDR or so on.

Anonymous, 01 Sep 2020Do you guys recommend this phone for gaming? I currently ha... moreI'm a gamer with G7 & I have no issues so far. But then it also depends on the graphic settings you prefer in game.
For Example in PUBG: If you set it on HDR with High frame rate obviously you see lag when ever enemies approach you & in a place like pochinki you wont able to play either. I use GFX tool & I run game on smooth graphics with extreme (60fps) frame rate in which the game play far better & gives you some advantages as many phones run on 40fps.

Do you guys recommend this phone for gaming? I currently have realme c3 and in pubg it lags in hot drops so I'm considering lg g7.
I had lg g5, v20 and q6 and all of them had the same problem with GPU frequency which stayed at 133-214mhz, I managed to fix it on lg g5 but couldn't fix it on the others, so does g7 also have this problem?

Am going to keep this brief. If you are looking for a phone to keep up with you through all your life's hustles, this will get the stuff DONE.
At this price point, this is the only device that comes with a SD 845, this will keep you going well beyond the dreaded 4th-year mark. Everything from messaging, videography, and top-end gaming to running hardcore simulations are slurpee smooth.
top of the line IPS LCD keeps it sharp and easy on the eyes. audiophiles and headbangers would be in for a pleasant surprise too, with a hifi quad DAC (in box mono headphones good enough) for the backbench loners and the resonance chamber at the back with up to +35% volume boost (will knock your vase off the fuckin table for REAL fellas !) for the party animals.
for the couldn't-care-less ones, the dust and water resistance has got you covered. now keep scrolling through those feeds even as the whole city floods away all around you ;) [ yeap, I really did shower with it ]. and those of with younglings running around the house looking to play frisbee, you can finally breath easy as this is one tough SOB, will take on all the bangs they throw at it [ mine got tossed all the way across the room and never stop playing 'i wanna fly' ;) ]
Memory management- excellent. Power management- great. Qualcomm really did a work on this gem of a SoC. although the 4 upper cores supposedly come underclocked at 2.6ghz (idk maybe rumours) plenty of supported bands got your foreign business trips covered. NFC ready, for you Starbucks brats (tap-to-pay your way out of lines Yipeeee) excellent reception thanks to the state of the art 685 DSP. ardeno 630 gpu best in business, will keep up with absolutely everything. bluetooth 5.0 future ready. lag free LPDDR-4x ram for all you nerds. plenty of cache. Finally, a USB Type-C, no more charger incompatibility hassles. 5v/1.8A fast charge(10-100% in 70 min straight for me yay).
now stuff to watch out for-
NOT for the social media bugs/ selfie queens. steer clear.
the software is a letdown, security patches are months late, and updates seem to take forever to get rolled out. the native media player looks straight-outta-2012. but the UI is geared towards functionality is every way. once you get used to it, its actually pretty intuitive. plenty of customization,no other OEM get even close to offering this many.
the BATTERY-
yeap... now look here, everyone's got that one achillies heel, you cant have it all can ya?! I will give it to you straight, I get 7hr screen on time with 30hrs idle and 8.5hrs screen on with 25hrs idle (standby 2days) you got to be prudent about your usage pattern, introduce a couple of heathy habitual usage changes, a couple of nifty software tricks (plenty of vids on YT, stick to as many of the recommended ones as you possibly can) and rest assured you'll never get caught off guard with a dead phone on a stormy night stuck in a jam. plus the energy-saving modes have always got your back, can pull off 2 days starting out with just 30%.
the cameras-
16mp primary gets the job done. no less no more. the real magic is the video. crisp 4k 30fps with the OIS and EIS will blow you away! from your best friend's wedding to the kids setting the mattress on fire, deserves to be shot on this. the cheapass working man's camcorder :D
the wide-angle less in the biggest surprise of all, 16mp and OIS means unmatched skyline shots. no one can match LG on this.
the selfie camera(8 mp) is umm... not horrible at all! though you might be poked fun at by your colleagues on the occasional web meetings on the fly xD. good enough to fool around with the kids with AR stickers inbuilt. definitely NOT for the selfie fanatics lol
all in all, its a unique LG experience. at this cheap this really is a stellar grab, but the letdowns are, unfortunately, turnoffs for many. after all nothing is perfect and even with all its flaws it still is worth a glance. and it sure is 1.5 yrs old at this point but still worth picking up. in my opinion, this is best suited for all you budget-tied college rats and you fresh outta college rookie corporate go-getters. will see you through these 4-5 yrs of the absolute roller coaster of a ride your life is gonna take you on now. will get you through the worst of the days and will stand by you through all the ups and downs that comes along. so strap up and enjoy the ride!
hope this read turned out to be of some use ;) for me this was the one phone i absolutely wanted, and now that i finally have it here beside me, i hope ill have a great couple of years ahead hehe. I love this, even with all its flaws and wrinkles, this is the perfect match for me ;D
Have a great one ahead,
--cheers, Roy.
