Do you honestly think that LG G / V series software can even compete with Samsung Galaxy S/ Note series software?
Lastly this is a watered down 'flagship' of LG for 3rd world countries. Internationally LG G8 and Galaxy S10 are priced very similarly..

I bought LG G8S (400€) 1 week ago and I really think, that it is the most underrated phone of 2019. Maybe it isn't best in any category, but does pretty much everything and does it pretty good. In times, when companies butcher their phones functionality, by removing features that where common, LG G8S still has them. How many other flagship grade phones still has both sd-card and 3.5mm jack and don't cost more than half grand? It is just like what OnePlus was few years ago. Offer as much as you can for less and satisfy any basic needs. Performance is very smooth I haven't noticed any lag, slowdown or hiccup, build quality is sturdy and solid, battery easily last more than day (and I rarely put my phone down), cameras are versatile and takes nice pictures, loudspeakers are loud and clear. And on top of that it has additional MIL-STD-810G resistance. Only things that I don't like are notch and size. I personally prefer smaller mobiles. So it's really sad, that even mobile reviews sites like gsmarena give it almost no attention.

My personal experience with lg v40 and g8s . Lg g8s better camera better display colours. Quaddac except all there. Better battery life . Compare to oneplus i see some lags in oneplus .7t battery very poor. Camera worst. G8s better camera .battery too good than 7t

Really? Did they drop the quad-dac for this one? I have a high-impedance headphone and I need the amp provided by the quad-dac. If this phone lacks the more powerful amp provided by the quad-dac on other models I won't be buying it anymore.

Got it on Friday in Germany (399€). I will return it:
1. NO HiFi (just usual 15 volume steps, no extra settings apart DTS X 3D Surround BullSh*t - the speakers absolutelly cannot reproduce any bass)
2. NO manual mode for video = no slow-mo or adujstable settings anymore!!!
3. worse apeture lenses
4. Terrible notch almost all width of top edge - just silly
5. too large for me
I like the Z-cam and face unlock, good feature, unfortunately it works in portrait mode ONLY (CANNOT use it in landscape mode in car etc.)
I'll get V50 instead.

robin20rvp, 21 Aug 2019g8s because newer cpu,gpu,and battery lasts way longer..G8s is a way inferior phone to V40 or V35 or G8 or G7 . Open gsmarena compartment and see yourself .Saying otherwise is pure insanity or simply lack of basic knowledge .

I always like LG phones them, it seem to be not so complicated and easy to utilize... However I truly believe that, the should bring back the IR blast or the inferred feature on their upcoming phones them. I know a lot of us misses that feature and would love to see LG please some of us, and restore back the inferred on the handset, we all have.

Does it have quad DAC. It says it has 32 bit filter. But I don't see hi Fi filter in sound settings

2nd lg v40 has 2k display and 568 ppi very clear video playback as compared to fullhd plus g8s screen
Lg v40 has quad dac g8s is lacking
Lg v40 has snapdragon 845 while g8s 855 if u are not heavy gammer then go for lg v40

Why the hell would they eliminate the Quad-DAC. It's insane, I love music and that's why I buy these phones besides standard of quality. Please don't drop Quad-DAC, it's the only field where you guyz are undisputed champs.
