The Portrait mode is creazy good and HDR+ also works great . It also has a 360Photosphere mode and nightside too. You can look for it in dxa developers forums. All in all good cameras no argument vs the g8s.

Alitaghavi, 14 Mar 2021Hello please anyone who has or had this phone tell me about... moreIt is a good phone but you will struggle with finding nice cases and good screen protectors, also replacement parts are very hard to find, I managed to break the screen glass on mine and I can't find only the glass, I have to buy the whole glass-display assembly which is not cheap but not as expensive as a samsung flagship one , the sound quality is pretty good but the headphone jack is pretty useless, it doesn't have a Quad DAC and the sound quality through the jack is just normal, not even flagship level, my old Asus Zenfone 3 has better jack quality, the cameras are quite good, using the UltraCVM version of google camera you can get some really good shots of sunsets and not only but the camera app is good enough to not need gcam, the ultrawide camera is awesome, it is wider and better than a lot of other ultrawide cameras out there but the 2x zoom is pretty bad in my opinion, you can't use it in low light, it switces to the main camera and uses digital zoom and when you have plenty of light the quality of the pictures taken by the 2x sensor isn't that great... the main sensor is good.
The battery is decent, the phone is not so power hungry and I keep all the things turned on all the time because why not.
Here are some bad aspects : Not so great GPS signal, it's almost impossible to use in a town/city, it is very unaccurate, at least mine is so
The back glass started to lift off the frame on the buttons side, removed it without using heat and reattached it using special glue so do not trust this phone around water, I noticed this problem 2 monts after buying it.
The jack gets loose fast, I really didn't use it that much because I still have my old phone which I use for music because the jack quality is better on that one, still my g8s has a loose jack, it's pretty easy to get a bad contact by just moving the wire and the music stops randomly, it gets pretty annoying..
Overall it's a good phone, it doesn't overheat while gaming, the OS is pretty well optimized, I didn't get too many bugs and most of them got fixed with the updates that came, I got android 10 very late compared to other phones, I also have a huawei mate 20 lite which got android 10 way before my g8s got it... I don't think we'll be getting android 11
It's quirky, it's strange, it's nice, it has some 'issues' if I can say it that way, it's the g8s :D
I'd buy it again if I had the chance to go back in time...

Only if you are happy with 4G+ max data speed. If you want 5G and top cameras look for something else like Samsung if you can afford.

Anonymous, 19 Feb 2021What about the quality of the cameras?(rear&front)The front camera is pretty average, nothing special, but the rear cameras are great in the right hands. If you like to take good pictures on your phone, then the manual mode feature in the camera app is excellent, and gives you absolute control o your shot.

I bought this phone about 6 months ago for $500 AUD ($390 USD) and here are my findings. Pros: screen, processor (SD 855), battery life, stereo speakers, sound through headphones, compact size. Average: cameras not the best but does the job, charging time could be faster. Cons: notch, software not to my taste but it's a learning experience. Verdict: Would say it's a great upper mid-range phone way better than any offering from Samsung and others in this price range. Would recommend at this price for people interested in buying.

Hello guys, I'm planning to switch phones from Nokia 8 to this one, I can get a good deal for a new unused G8s. What do you think, is it a good idea to get this LG?
Also what about the 8 Mpx selfie camera, does it take good photos?
