Soon after i ask for help i have discover similar to what you are saying, but without actually getting into the software. Let say i am making a call and it require the keypad during the call.. When the blank screen appear, i wiped the proximity sensor area and everything re-appear, how long will it last who know. But thanks i will keep your suggestion if the simple solution no longer work. To me is a very DUMB design, this phone got good feature but if the simple thing of making/receiving a call is a PAIN, is not worth it. Unfortunately i bought mine in HK but iam in Canada.Thanks for your help!

Basically it has been configured incorrectly, that's why it fails to detect when it's near the ear or at viewpoint. Do the following carefully, but be warned, this is offered without warranty.
1. On the phone keypad enter the following code: 1809#*900# to bring up the engineering settings menu. 2. Scroll down to the entry called OTHERS and select it.
3. Scroll down this menu to the entry called PROXIMITY and select it.
4. You should see three options: Enable, Disable & Start Calibration
5. Select Start Calibration - after a few seconds it will return a new figure (mine was 3627)
6. BACK right out of the menu system, and make a test call - it should blank the screen when you hold it to your ear (or when you hold a finger near the sensor), but come back on again when you remove it.
THIS SHOULD FIX IT! All the best.

Please help. Thanks so much.

i also face in this problem, have anyone can help me,everytime when someone calls me the screen goes blank and all buttons are frost except end call hardware button,i can't receive any call,any idea how to fix?

Those who are having the trouble of 'blank/black' screen when calling/receiving, is a proximity sensor fault which can be fixed. Anyone having trouble still, please leave a msg.

Umm,its okay but is nowhere near as good as the LG cookie, so its got a better camera, pap, who cares, its meant to make calls not take pics, go for the cookie
