So it can be sent easily via BT to any phone but I'm not that sure if this file can be read or used to restore contacts on S40 phone. As per the extent of my knowledge, S40 phones can read vcf file but with a single contact name and I don't think there is an option for backing up contacts in S40 let alone restore it as in S60 phones. But it is possible to restore a VCF file on another GM200. I have tried it on my brother's phone without any troubles.

Hi all...
Just saw a post on on the samsung S3500 forum stating that users are having difficulty installing games and apps above 500KB. So I decided to try it out and downloaded the harry potter Ebook which is about 621KB in size. In theory, S3500 with a bigger display should run it without any troubles. But that is not the case here. Contrary to my expectations, I tried installing it on my GM200 and it runs without any kind of fuss. Also tried the Blue FTP app which is about 642KB. It too runs well but the problem with GM200 is that it currently doesn't have the JSR75 and JSR82 java language libraries though it is a MIDP2.0 CLDC1.1 device.
Again the faulty firmware is to be blamed for this. These java API libraries are essential for accessing the phone's file system and the bluetooth device. If LG can come up with an update consisting of these libraries, this would greatly increase the application support of this phone. The muscle is already there. It just needs the brain to make it going. And I don't think there is any limit to the size of the application that can be installed. The functionality is only limited to the java libraries that is installed on the device.
It is just pointless to have fancy large displays if nothing is gonna work properly. It is simple logic that larger displays result in applications with larger file sixe. So a size limit on applications would greatly reduce your flexibility.
The same applies to images too... the maximium files size limit for a GIF animation is 500KB. I have a GIF animation having a resolution of 320X240 and 1.1MB size. I could easlily open it on my GM200 though with a smaller display. But even though with the right resolution, I could not open it on the S3500.
So bigger displays are just a fashion statement as it cannot judge phone's capability.

The interface of GM200 very much resembles the more expensive KF510 and for me I think the hardware part is Ok. since this is a slightly new line up, a lot of improvements have to be made in many aspects. So for the time being, guess we all have to put up with the inconveniences.
The pause option is yet to come in the music player. The problem is the player is unable to pause the music when camera or applications are accessed. they need to sort that out soon. And last play memory feature for the last played song would also be very much appreciated.

But when the incoming call is received it automatically gets stopped and again not replayed/music player is not started playing once we cut down the call. Same problem persists if we open the Camera while playing songs even after minimizing. Kindly help to sort out this..

anushka, 12 Dec 2009can i transfer my contacts trouggh blue tooth ? i tried bu... moreYes you can use bluetooth to connect your GM200 wirelessly with the PC using the PC sync software. You need a BT dongle for this purpose. There is another neat trick which is much much easier. Just goto contacts, settings, backup phonebook and bach it up onto the memory card. The result is a single small .vcf file which is stored in the others folder of memory card.
This small files contain all the contacts which can later be used to restore the phonebook too. It's a very neat feature and works flawlessly. Takes very less time than connecting via PC sync and is much faster. I backup my phone book almost every week. This file can also be stored in the computer or be sent via bluetooth to other phones.
And one more thing, I have never seen this feature in other phones at this price tag especially the samsung S3500 or the other Nokia S40 phones.

GUYS I found out a cheat ... due to current firmware update you wont be allowed to play
game or opening any application while playing radio or mp3 player..
Current system : play radio or player then minimize it , once you get to games or
applicaion , it will display JAVA and the media which is (radio or mp3 player quits )
Cheat :
Play radio or mp3 player .. minimize it then got to others or where u have the jar file
of the game or application , install it and then play it .. MP3 or Radio will not be
stopped.
This simple thing is not yet fixed by LG and that is ridiculous..

The camera result is nice for 2mp category,even only with 72dpi(not to sharp),but with natural colour..and the sound(wrless fm,rec,n with woofr). This both thing i like from this lg..i love my gm200..muack..

If u back up the msg we can store the msg in external memory and it is available in External Memory -> Others ->........
So u can read it .......
Even if u delete from inbox..........
it will use very less amount of space.

hi , i am using lg gm200 its a nice cell phone but i have some problems in it first when the messages in inbox exceeds 146 or 148 then i try to write a new text its shows that craeta multi media message no space for text messages? can ane 1 plz tell me the reason 4 it?? adn 2nd 1 is that what is the use of back up messages in this phone the option in the message setting...
