What are the reasons why anyone would want to buy this phone, the specifications are poor and too simple for a handset of that price. 2 meg camera, no 3G, its not the most appealing to the eye. Tbh if its anything like the original cookie, then its a disaster. good luck to the owner of a cookie fresh.

First let me tell you one thing that LG GS290 is not a smart phone, it's a purely feature phone. Some of the users claimed so many features which are only related to smart phones.If you people really crazy abt those then put some more bucks from your pockets and go for the smart phones.
As i feel in RS 5900/- GS290 is more than enough.

In my professional life I do technical writing on all kinds of mobile phones. I have gone through quite a lot of cell phones by now. Like heaps of other crappy mobile phones, this ...uhm, phone is definately not worth buying. I cant believe some people think this phone is worth spending money on. I wouldn't even consider using it even if it was free. I would go with less fancy phone like a classic Nokia if I couldnt afford an iPhone, a high-end Android HTC or Samsung with Bada OS or just wanted a regular reliable phone without too many features.

User Memory is only 32MB - Use a good size card
But NANAD Flash Memory is 256MB
RAM is 128 MB - so no issue
What is important is the processor, its slow !!
Camera image is awful, you cannot figure out which one is the horse and which one is the rider

yes, it has USB 1.0 not 2.0 and no accelerometer as it sais in specifications above. I don't know where from gsm arena takes the specifications...

file transfer is one heck of a problem, and yeah you should gear up for your mobile being screwed if you try to put in anything else other than whatever is already there , be it music or documents..
