I flashed my handset with OEM firmware - battery life improved and I have proper WiFi not UMA.

LG GT505 is a great device, despite having a screen resistive, touch response is swift and sure enough, it takes even where we clicked.
In terms of appearance seems to be somewhat fragile but it is sometimes appearances can be deceiving, it is a device with good resistance.
The autonomy of it depends on the use we give you, with very little use the battery can last 6 / 7 days, with a moderate use can last for 3/4/5 days, with an intensive lasts 2 / 2, 5 days.
About the characteristics and performance of it I have to say that in general is well equipped and phone with good performance, software has a very fast and generally tends to do everything quickly without major lags.
Until today and already I've had for eight months I have not encountered a single bug in this phone, it only proves the reliability of equipment, usually everyone has the idea that LG phones have weak and low quality but this is a different model for the better.
Despite the camera lens are not branded as known Carl-Zeiss and Schneider-Kreuznach still be able to take good pictures in outdoor or indoor, but I have to make a brief comment here about this: when taking pictures outside we have try adjusting the white balance correctly in the options because the camera from time to time depending on the intensity of the light, photos can backfire because the white photography is so intense that eventually burned the picture.
The same applies if we use the internal LED Flash camera, if we take photos with the help of Flash very close to object, the photo will go out the fire, now if we take a picture with the help of Flash, but more distant the object the picture already will be better.
One weakness of this phone is the image quality of video recording, the image appears very pixelated and smudged, but while recording video does not present any lag, the recorded video is streamed without pause, the phone records videos at 24fps in format 3GP using the codec h263, resolution is only QVGA (320x240).
The experiences I've ever done I can say that recording video is much better when filmed indoors and also filmed very well in low light, do the test shooting a video in ourdoors, another in interior under normal light and another in the interior but in low light, transfer the videos to your PC and see the difference.
Only one thing I forgot to mention above, can you take pictures without the shutter sound, I can but I had to remove one of shutter sounds, it also gives to mute the Auto-Focus, timer, etc., all other sounds the phone also give to delete if they wish.
On the GPS I have to say that unfortunately there is not a navigation software quality that is not necessary to always be connected to the Internet to function and thus the function of LG GPS for navigation is practically useless.
For other purposes without the navigation is still some software to make use of GPS, such as software to indicate our location by coordinates and also some software can show us a map to our location, there is also software for tracking and Geo-Caching running this equipment, be noted that this phone has very good reception of GPS signal, it also has some additional services like GPS: A-GPS, QuickGPS and Geo-Tagging.
With the help of extra software you can see movies with subtitles in this phone, although he can read only formats 3GP, MP4 and AVC-H264, the image quality of movies is good, very good quality and excellent is for most expensive other equipments.
The sound quality is pretty good on call and without interference, although no audio-jack 3.5 mm gives to buy an adapter, the sound when listening to MP3 with the phones is also quite good.
This phone has a document reader, PDF, Txt, Word, Excel, Power Point.

Does this phone have a limited number of messages you can store? Because I know of another LG phone which can only store 300 messages and this is really inconvenient for me as I message a lot. Please reply, thanks.

Just got this one. Menus flow great, it has everything you need, just have to take a few minutos to get used to the menus (it's just like going from windows to linux LOL).
Anyway, just got disappointed with the GPS, it only works with a JAVA gps software, that keeps connecting to the internet to get maps and stuff... Anyone know of a different gps software (in JAVA) that's more complete and functionnal?
