anyone has this issue? all my calls pretty much coming in as "pay phone" on my caller id. is this only ne? did i get a defective unit?

[deleted post]hello josef i have had both and can say for sure the gt540 is better, it is faster somehow, and smoother screen, plus this is android the s8000 is not.

Switch off "mobile internet" in your wireless settings.
Phone your phone company's customer services, check your tariff is one that contains internet usage, if not, get changed onto one that is.
As to your balance...how would we know, you haven't mentioned who your operator is, but look in your contacts, it should be in there.
for instance, o2's is *#10# then dial.
And read the manual...

PLs help just bought LG GT540 and in an hour it wiped £10 off my credit. I was looking as everything on the phone and was just pressing the return/back key to come out of Apps - do I need to close down in a different way??? Also where on the phone can I locate my balance, thanks.

got my GT540 on Carphone Warehouse a few hours ago.. network is T-mobile.. Unlocked.. comes with 2gb microsd.. will buy 16gb next week.. awesome phone..

should i get this or should i get the i5700 from samsung? the only thing holding me back from this phone is the fact that the samsung has a capacitive screen, which i read was waaay better than resistive screens.

Orange is locked to Orange, o2 to o2, etc, but not all are unlocked, from personal experience, and some of their aftercare, and customer support is crap.

Not all Carphone Warehouse phones are unlocke... moreall phones are unlocked unless its a special like the Samsung voda 360, palm pre . . . network exclusives really.
i,ve had this handset since it came out and let me say its an awesome phone, wouldnt have minded paying more.
only a 3.2 megapixel cam, but who cares really when you can do everythin you can do on a desire more or less at a quarter of the price.
you cant compare the phone really to anythin out the price range because then your payin more, the samsung wave is good but rubbish apps (personally)
only had 1 problem myself and thats with certain apps, not the phone, to say i cant store to SD i have loads of apps and things.

The GT505 is rubbish, poor GUI, poor apps, camera isnt great, flash is useless, and screen is terrible, not responsive at all, IMO.
And it's not Android, and was dumped as soon as it was released.

i just wanna ask which is a better this phone or GT505. GT505 has 5 mp camera and flash.. but when i searched the price of both in our country GT505 is only 11000 pesos and this is 13500. help me please on which phone to buy.

Not all Carphone Warehouse phones are unlocked..so beware!
Also, if you buy an Orange phone, be prepared for a ****up of epic proportions, their software is rubbish(they actually break this phone in parts), and wifi won't work correctly, as their software seems to insist you use 3g for everything.
So if you buy an Orange phone, flash it to a different operators software, and keep it on Orange with the sim, or get it flashed to another operators software/get it sim unlocked, or the easy way, Don't buy an Orange phone, and go with someone else.
