It's pretty good phone if you install Cynogen Mod which enables better video recording quality,animated GIFs,stronger Wi-Fi signal and overclocking CPU up to 900Mhz.

i installed lg pc suite 4, it says there is an update available for phone when i start updating process another application named lg mobile support tool runs and says your phone is up to date !!! i have android 1.6 on the phone & i know there is a 2.1 update
plz help me solve the problem tnx

rcas, 28 Mar 2013what shall i do to upgrade my LG GT540 OS from 1.6 to 2.1 Go to the lg website and look for your phone on the website. Then you should find an option to update the phone, this will require you to download lg drivers for your PC/mac and some setup etc which will guide you through the update process. Just follow the instructions.

denis, 08 Mar 2013how to unlock the phone . my young brother draw the patten ... moreThere is nothing you can do except reset the the phone into factory setting ...if you don't know how to do it, just go to any mobile phone shop and next time...just don't use this operation. A lot of people got into trouble by doing this. OR if you want to do this make sure you have the record of pattern...at least 3 copies and keep and save them in different places, storage, notebook or where ever you want incase you forgot the pattern again!

Mine runs ICS 4.04 now. Works very well and with AOKP_ICS_r2_GT540 it actually runs better than many phones created for ics. I know flashing involves risk and takes a lot of work but in my humble opinion it changes this 80$ phone to a 150$+ phone
