Diluen, 18 Oct 2010ZTE? Never heard of it. Probably doesn't exist in Australia.@ Diluen,
They are bigger than HTC, probably due to them being big in telecommunications, and GSM kit.
HTC only make phones/handsets, so small fry compared to ZTE, and you also have giants like Kyocera, RIM, and Huawei who also dwarf HTC.

Totally agree with you about the ZTE Blade. So much more for the money. I'd been following yours and Diluen's posts for quite some time (at times entertaining but always informative :))and was going to get the LG. But I came across this phone on Android Modaco so when for this instead.
Interesting that this phone has not been picked up by GSMARENA yet especially since alot of people out there in the know are raving about this phone - not even a mention under the ZTE section.....

Forgot to add, on my other phone, a ZTE Blade(Orange San Francisco) far better phone BTW, and cheaper lol - 3.5" OLED capacitive screen, more everything really :) ), under GPS, it has the option to use A-GPS, whereas the GT540 does not.

BubbleTea101, 18 Oct 2010It's agps. You need a plan which contains internet access.@ BubbleTea101,
It's GPS, you don't need a data plan..you can use the GPS with or without mobile data access, and as long as the Nav programme you use, can access offline maps(stored on the SD card), you will be fine.
Also, it may not be strictly A-GPS,so whether or not its locked, faulty, or just standard, who knows..
you can download GPS Status from the market, that thinks it is..you can also use the menu from the GT540 to look at the GPS - on the dialer enter 3845#*540#, then check the GPS.
might work, might not..it was always fast enough for me, as stock.
I think mainly though, on this phone A-GPS is used with standard GPS, and a network connection though.
whether LG has tried to fudge performance, or whether it's a bug..who knows.
